Title: confused about the raptor..
Post by Tobias dk on 04/16/18 at 05:01:50

hi guys, i have a question.. i have changed my stock petcock to the raptor, hoping to aleviate a problem with stalling. but i am looking at all the little nozzles on the carb, and can't figure out what to do with them. i know where to connect the fuel hose, and am pretty sure where to plug the vacuum. but is that it??

The long tube that goes between the left side of the carb and the vacuum petcock is removed, and the spigot/nipple on the carb will need to be plugged to prevent a vacuum leak.  You can either put a rubber cap on the carb (neatest approach), or you can put a bolt in the petcock end of the hose.

The larger/shorter tube is the fuel hose to the left side of the carb.....you need to keep that.

Okay, I got that part down! But there are two more nozzles on my carbureator, one on each side.. Those are currently just unplugged, is that okay?

Those are vent tubes,... they remain unplugged.
They are there to allow the float bowl to breathe,.. otherwise gas couldn't get in.
8-)

When the bike was new....each of those had a black tube that extended upward and they ended inside the top center frame tube.  If you don't have those tubes...you should get some.

They are just vents. And as such, are openings into the carburetor. As Dave said, you need a piece of tubing on each one, run the open end up inside the frame to keep stuff out.
