Title: On my way soon...... Post by raydawg on 03/19/18 at 08:58:25 My new face awaits, today......haha. Will be leaving soon for HOPEFULLY my last surgery, on this dang cancer stuff. I am sooooo ready, my face seems to be constantly "puckered" where they manipulated the skin. But once again guys, if you have a spot on your skin that wasn't there before, and it doesn't go away after a few weeks, please, just go have a dermatologist look at it. It is really a simple procedure if you treat it early..... I didn't :-[ Here is the most common type, rarely fatal, unless, left untreated.... I have the basal cell carcinoma type. Basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma are typically grouped together and called non-melanoma skin cancers, WebMD explains. Melanoma is the highly aggressive skin cancer that can be fatal if it is not detected and treated early; however, melanoma comprises a small fraction of skin cancer cases. Most skin cancers are basal cell carcinomas and squamous cell carcinomas. These non-melanoma cancers usually do not spread to different parts of the body, so they are rarely deadly. They can cause disfigurement if not diagnosed and treated early. Yeah, as my pictures show ( I will spare you any more ) I have some disfigurement, because I waited too long in a very sensitive area, close to my eye. However, I don't think I'm dead, not sure, I'll let you know if I am ;D Sorry guys, not trying to be a pest or attention w-hore...... Just really, really, want to drive home this point of precaution BEFORE you have to act later.... Protect your exposed skin while riding (and at all time when out in sun exposure) with a quick spray or lotion of sun screen, you don't have to bath in it, or lather it on to the point of sticky, etc.... OK, I'm done, wish me luck, this face has sunk a thousand ships, that should be worth keeping, eh? ;D |

After reading about your ordeal , I want to loose all the short sleeve shirts I've got and go with thin long sleeve for year around. I already carry those tubes of sunscreen that look like giant lip balm things. The kid's formula SF50 that don't burn really bad if it gets in my eyes . |

Since then I've had many pre-cancerous areas treated ok my head and face, so far all has gone well with that. After several attempts at the VA I had to go on the outside to get treatment because the VA hispital I use did not have a Dermetologist on staff. Not all their fault since they have not been funded for one, BUT they should have made arrangements for me. They dropped that one. Anyway, I found a good clinic to take care of me. It IS very important to get checked regularly. [ch128521] |

Pretty good amount of pain, not sure why, maybe because I stayed awake, just took sedatives instead of going under, or because they pizzed off the area again, just as it was healing,.....trauma on top of trauma, I dunno. I really tired, just wanted to say all is good, I'm going to hit the sack now. |

As you can see in this new pix I took a few hours ago, my face looks a lot better than a day after the other surgeries. Real sweet how she tucked that skin/flesh back to where most of it came from. Still have some covering up the hole where that cancer was, a graft..... Back when I was in the Secret Service there was this Iranian guy who just knew I was selling him a dirty bomb type stories ! or There was this lady walking around the parking garage looking for her car when these three muggers .... ..................................................... Back when I first lost two finger tips a little boy (7-8 years old ) says "What happen" .... I ask him if he had ever had his fingers in the wrong place when his folding knife closed ? Then took his hands and looked to see if all his fingers were still where they should be and told him "Nope , looks like you ain't done that yet ! " The expression on his face was PRICELESS ! ;D Fun can be found anywhere . ;) ............................................................ Seriously , you look like its healing up good . :) |

No lasting effects from it, but I understand that once infected, it can reoccur at a later date. It doesn't mention that here, however. Staph is short for Staphylococcus, a type of bacteria. There are over 30 types, but Staphylococcus aureus causes most staph infections (pronounced "staff infections"), including Skin infections are the most common. They can look like pimples or boils. They may be red, swollen and painful, and sometimes have pus or other drainage. They can turn into impetigo, which turns into a crust on the skin, or cellulitis, a swollen, red area of skin that feels hot. Anyone can get a staph skin infection. You are more likely to get one if you have a cut or scratch, or have contact with a person or surface that has staph bacteria. The best way to prevent staph is to keep hands and wounds clean. Most staph skin infections are easily treated with antibiotics or by draining the infection. Some staph bacteria such as MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) are resistant to certain antibiotics, making infections harder to treat. |

When I was a kid (about 10) I had a wart removed from the inside of my right knee. It turned, it was huge, and deep ... and the wound got infected. I was off my feet for aboy three weeks, and seeing the doctor every two days to have the dressing changed. Anyway, I ended up with a perfectly round scar that was about 15mm in diameter. I used to tell people I was hit by a stray bullet when I lived in Belfast. I was surprised how many people believed me!! |
