Does anyone know where I can buy a new rubber intake flange for the OEM carb?

And has anyone ever seen a alloy/metal flange which is the same size?

Ron Ayers Intake pipe 13101-14A10($30.19) O ring to fit 09280-46002( $6.90) is one place ,you might find it for less . You maybe able to make and insert a metal plate between it and the head to help protect it from the higher combustion temps your running.

Bob , I made a carb heat shield from one I bought on eBay for a SR500 and altered it to fit,was around $15. Pretty simple to make one from scratch.

My carb sits on the other side of the supercharger.. it doesn't get hot at all if anything it gets freezing cold.

Just want a back up flange that's all. And wondering if I could improve the intake tract if I had a metal version.

something like that - I guess nobody has had any use for one of those but worth asking.

OK,why did you bother to ask about a rubber one? Being metal will transmit heat and cold faster, why do you think it would work better? it might be better if your matching it to the blower intake port and it was a bit undersize .

I bothered asking about the rubber one - because for now that is what I am using and I simply want a backup incase mine spits.

Currently I have the OEM rubber one connecting to a short metal joiner.. which connects to a silicon hose, which connects to the blower manifold.

It's ok.. it works.. but it's more joins than I would like. Joins are weak points. So if I had a metal one that fitted, it could connect direct to the silicon tube getting ride of x2 joins.

Well a pic would be good ,but I'd say you might need someone with a lathe to turn you out a one piece manifold that would have ends matching the carb and blower openings , the inside ends could be recessed to except part of the rubber intake and a short piece of the silicon tube ,and slotted to allow hose clamps to tighten.

The carb is on the other side of the blower.

That flange that bolts to the head, behind those two clamps is a joiner. If I had a metal flange I wouldn't need that.

So yeah just asking if someone just happened to know of one with the correct bolt pattern. I'll measure it up and hunt around online there's bound to be something.

And yeah, solid manifolds are out. I made one and it was no good. It needs the silicon tract to smooth out the pluses.

I guess your right I don't have much of an idea of what your setup is ,or how to solve your problems ,sorry . I guess you're kind of on your own.

Some flex to absorb vibration and allow for less than perfect alignment as things bounce is probably needed.
If you manage to build a rigid enough connection that doesn't compensate for the pressure pulses, you might consider a small accumulator.

Strictly concept, you'll probably be building it if you need it.

hmm interesting but looks like a complex thing to make which will likely only achieve what I already have which works well.

All good, I'll just measure up the OEM flange and find a suitable alloy alternative. Just want to eliminate a possible failure source.

A piece of rubber across a piece of pvc with a light spring on it and a screw to adjust.
Not hard. Not big. Just a way to smooth out the pulses.

I don't need to smooth out the pluses - the silicon tract works beautifully.
