most of it is around sacramento, but the canyon 2 fire is south of me.
none of it is anywhere close.

we got another week of dry winds coming, fasten your seat belts it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

Smoke is real bad here and Bay Area the worst pollution ever measured in CA. Thousands of homes & businesses burnt to the ground. 31 dead so far, but there are still 285 people listed as missing. Almost no containment on the fires.
If you know a good rain dance , now is the time to share it !

So smokey you can't see San Francisco from the Oakland waterfront and raining ash at times, it's bad. They are going thru the burnt homes for recoveries starting with the addresses of the missing. I hope I'm wrong but by now they know who is in shelters and those who evacuated, the 285 missing are the ones who didn't make it out in time. Still at 0 containment on most of the bigger fires all you can do is get out and hope for the best. Forecast calls for 50 mph winds tonite,not good but a possibility of rain next week. 6 billion in losses so far , but the grape harvest hasn't stopped in the Napa valley,pickers wearing respirators. Red Cross donations if you can afford it are appreciated.

Just got home from CA. Had a long delay leaving SF due to the smoke and almost missed our connection in Chicago. We spent the first day in SF and it was fine. Then we headed north and spent most of our trip on the ocean up in Gualala. The winds were mostly coming in from the NW so it was clear all week for us. Even over in Anderson Valley which wasn't too far from the Redwood Valley fires. On the flight out, I got a shot one west of South Lake Tahoe.

I heard today they are making some progress on the fires in Napa valley area partial containment.
