Right after the Ferguson MO shooting LE in my area had to deal with a lot of the "my hands are up!" nonsense. A couple guys got into a fight right outside the bar and people gathered to watch, when the cops showed up the crowd was screaming all kinds of BS. Don't put your hands up they will murder you! My hands are up don't shoot! As people started putting their hands up they were screaming "Im going to die!" and such. Due to the proximity of everyone on the sidewalk one of the LEO's put her hand over her holstered gun and 5 or 6 people jumped on the ground screaming "she's going for her gun!" I can handle all the homicides, child exploitation, gang activity but I feel for LEO's out there with a bunch of people just trying to incite issues. The whole time they were professional and focused, never yelled back etc. and they still got a bad wrap for the threatening presence. |

If there's a way to beat someone over the head and 'win', darn the consequences. We have a potential Mike Brown type explosion waiting to happen here in St Louis. A cop is on trial for killing a black man couple year ago. The first circuit atty didn't prosecute because there wasn't enough evidence. The next circuit atty decided to prosecute because 'new evidence' was discoverer. Of course, that evidence can't be disclosed to the public. The trial by judge has been over for a couple weeks and the judge is to rlease his decision, possibly today. I haven't follow the details so I really don't know anything about the circumstances. But I do know if he's acquitted, all that smoke you see in the sky will be St Louis burning again. |

But when I travel through them I see 4-5 blocks with not a white face in sight, barred windows and lots of young 20-40 yr old blacks hanging cause they either work the night shift or are unemployed (my first guess). Further out I see the better neighborhoods with fewer window bars, lawns kept neat and streets clean, not many hanging on the corners, but a fair number of oldies sitting in their garages nodding to friends as they pass and watching their neighborhood. Yes, it might be simple human tribing, whites living next to whites, blacks w blacks, Asians w Asians ...that will always be with shared cultures, food preferences and the like. No, what I see in the above 3 cities is simply a second and third generation of unemployed with no understanding of what it takes to hold a job and no family history of having jobs with the expectations and memories to support them. They live in substandard housing governmentally ordained, with wealthy property owners living far away getting absurd rents because the govt subsidizes the rents (corruption is a beautiful thing). and yes, I may be wrong! (BUt I don't think so ;D ;D ;D) |

When the goverment tried to help with the great society, etc, type programs, it removed one of the basic necessities a person needs to be mentality healthy, self worth. It is no more complicated than the little wisdom quote, "you give a man a fish, he eats for a day. You teach a man to fish, he eats for life" I am not going to say these programs were set up for failure. To "herd" a race into an area, keeping them segregated by dependencies, and profiting greatly, the wealthy, made money off this, and avoided scrutiny, by charging the ever popular "racist" if you dare question these programs, or oppose them.... Didn't we see the same ploy with Obamacare? If you talk with "oreo's" they tell a different story. But again, the spin is directed against them as a sell out. This is not to say some were not able to utilize the programs and advance, in societal terms. Many did, but we must also acknowledge that it created other problems that trapped many. A 2nd or 3rd generation person had no say in being "born" into it, so to speak. By their time to "advance" up and out of the constraints of what they had been born into, STRICTLY by race, the chances were diminishing, from both inside and OUTSIDE, forces. I have harped on this until I am blue in the face, and only continue because I care.... I care about ALL people, and I care about my Black granddaughter. The practice of Political Correctness, tho maybe well intention, lets ignorance live with bias, misconceptions, and prejudice, that only festers, growing bigger, encompassing, and trapping, more folks, as they grow further apart from any understanding. It is fact we gravitate toward our own understandings and comfort level, with associations. MY GAWD, look at this board as a example, so ripe with disdain for others of a different faith, belief, etc..... Like Obama said, last week, that is a learned trait, mindset, I agree.... Look at Houston, folks helping others they don't even know, all the other political, racial, society dogmas not even a consideration.... That folks, is our REAL nature, not one that is learned, and then becoming a useful fool for those who have the wherewithal to enact THEIR will, and AGENDA'S, on others, through all sorts of questionable means.
