Title: Lesson learned, DOH!
Post by zipidachimp on 07/17/17 at 19:24:20

Took my S41 out for a run last Friday, within 3 blocks started to surge, buck, backfire etc., within 6 blocks, so bad had to turn it around and bring it home. Extremely loud, thought I had an airleak whatever. Started to take it apart, went to  remove the battery, + terminal was loose, explained the wavering neutral light. Charged it up, put it back, took it out today, smooth as butter. Now all my terminals have lockwashers.
Why did it loosen?  who knows. :-[

Just one of my stupidstitions never paint a bike green and must have a gremlin bell given as a gift, they don't work if you buy it.
After that anything goes !

And I thought the Vroom motor was silly.

The sound wave created by the bell disables the gremlins so they can't jump on as you pass by.
Without it , well you can fall prey to those nasty little critters.
Yup , and I've seen Bigfoot too !
But I haven't seen any aliens , but haven't been to Texas yet ! ;D ;D ;D

the way I heard it, they jump up from the street, get stuck in the bell and get their ears gonged, and they fall out and off in disarray.

as a new biker on an old bike, I was reading about gremlin bells, and it seemed like it couldn't hurt.  I looked where to hang one on the bike and it was already there and I had never noticed.  Gave me a warm-fuzzy for no reason.

Either way the bell serves its purpose keeping the little buggers off my bikes free to jump on the non believers bikes , where they belong !  ;D

I ride with a deer whistle .  By the time I get it out of my pocket, and blow in it,  the deer are gone.

Ya know they make ones that you can stick on the front fender.
Actually for cars but work on bikes too !

---------

No need for the whistle these days.  Modern day deer look both ways before crossing the road.
;)

Edit:  True story, I was playing golf last weekend.  Had a 6:30am tee time, at a course located in a national park.  On 2nd shot on the 8th hole (along a road) a coyote appears, looks both ways before crossing the road, the fairway and into the adjacent woods.

Actually, that has been changed. They work if you buy it yourself. But....They are more powerful if been given as a gift from another biker.
