I saw a press conference yesterday where some official was asking his police commissioner if he had a large supply of body bags! Think this was overblown a little?! Now, on one hand, you could say better safe than sorry, but on the other hand, have they set up yet another Chicken Little situation? There hasn't been a hurricane hit Florida for 11 years I just heard. If another "storm" pops up a month from now, how many won't leave this time? And if it turns out to be a bad storm. then what?...... I think the global warming crowd was desperate for a disaster, something they could hang around Trump's neck like they hung the false Katrina millstone around Bush's neck. |

When it was upgraded to category four, they made evacuation mandatory. Category four is sustained 100 mph winds. She's inland now in Kissimmee. A very short 15,000 years ago, you couldn't stand on what now is the shores of Chicago's Lake Michigan because in wasn't there yet, it was a glacier. No one argues against the science of the greenhouse effect, that's proven. What we do dispute is the theory we've put enough of one greenhouse gas into the atmosphere to warm the planet far beyond it's normal warming. And it is naturally warming or there'd still be glaciers over Chicago. I think it's likely we've influenced the warming to a very small degree, but I think it's not even measurable and I'm not willing to lower my standard of living or condemn poor nations to poverty. There's about a million things more important than this overhyped climate change. |
