What's Wrong that made you start working on it?

The piece of metal (carb) that you already have is the same as a new one.
Just re-jet to standard and take it from there.

What do you have to lose? The parts to repair it are less than a new one. :)

Your at 6500ft ,you should go back to the stock jets, fully charge your battery then if it starts retune your air screw. If you can't get it to run with the stock carb and up grade will be even harder, and a new carb will run over $500.You should pull your sparkplug and check it ,a 52.5 idle jet is way to rich for your elevation the stock jet may even be to large.

If you've
Worked on it,
And
It was better before you did that.
Undo everything you did, put it back to stock.
You Really don't wanna buy a new carb.

Did the problems start when you installed the K&N Cone filter?

The stock carb is $ 664.88 from Suzuki.

Since you are not using the stock air box and have a cone filter, the Mikuni Round slide kit would be a better choice, as they work better with a cone filter.

I'll save the long story of why I was going to buy a new carb....

However, today I took one more stab at it. Pulled it off completely. Full disassembled it, gave a thorough cleaning, reassembled, now I'm back cruising!
