Title: Question of the day......
Post by raydawg on 06/24/16 at 05:08:04

Why does polling, or the reporting of results, seem to be off from the final tally, and it always seems that the liberals never fare in the final count as the polls suggest?

Anybody want to hazard a guess?

No, at the end of the campaign, right before the election?
You got a viable link?

These are after the fact of his campaign and supporters getting it wrong, not the press polling/data they print.

That included the entire Right Wing... and all their pollsters...
I remember Fox being so stupefied it took them several hours to swallow the results...

So,basically what has happened is, people have concluded that Their candidate was gonna win , for whatever reasons.
If actual polling numbers were the base for that, then what happened?

Was it lazy voters, Seeing Their Guy so far up in the polls that they decided that their vote wouldn't be needed to Sweep him into office?
Can polls ever be wrong? A margin of error, sure, but, wrong ?

Dewey didn't have a great presidency, did he?
Can you imagine being the publisher of that paper?

My question was why does it seem the democrats seem to be on the losing end way more?
Bot tried one race incident, as if that answered the question, which might very well have in his own mind.

Is it the democrat supporters say they will vote, but don't flow through more, a media manipulation, or?

I wonder what % of folks answer the opposite of what they really think just to screw with the poll taker(or just because they were annoyed that they got  a call in the middle of dinner).

Probably ought to take a poll to find out.

Only way to know for sure.

When I get pollster calls,.. I hang up...
The question is,... which way do the average hanger-upper's lean?...
I would guess,... more conservative... (myself ,being an outlier)...

... or. am I wrong?...
Conservatives tend to be more outspoken... (I see more Conservative, bumper stickers, hats, t-shirts,yard signs, flags, etc)... Perhaps they would be more likely to participate in polling?...

With caller ID, I don't even answer the 'phone....
When you refer to polling results you need to remember that the questions ask and the wording of how they are ask is designed to give the results of what the group/people who commissioned/are paying for the poll want to hear..    "Focus Groups" are manipulated in the same manner.       8-)

That's your perception. It's possibly exactly correct, but I can't remember what Was in polls, and I don't know if what you are saying is right or wrong,, I straight up don't remember what the pre election polling was, margins of error, etc.
