I panic ... can't get response ... send final email demanding a cancellation ... miracles happen get a tracking number ... BOGUS ... hasn't even left location ... just "printed/generated" ... send more emails ... nothing ... dudes store "reopens" find phone number ... call and dude starts insulting me ... WTF ??? ... provides another tracking number which is good ... days go by ... part arrives ... open up: dented, dinged and rusted to F#@% inside, so bad there's S#!t rattling around and when shaken rust CHUNKS fall out ...

some F#@%s should be round the F#@% up, assets seized, and set their A$$es to work the fields as slave labor

Rat,

Contact eBay right away, they are pretty good at resolving problems with problem sellers.

If you used PayPal for payment, and your messages went through PayPal.....it should be easy to get them to rule in your favor.

You must file a dispute....and "item not as described" is one of the standard reasons to file a dispute on their form.

Paying with PayPal leaves one with some powerful options if a deal goes South on you!

When you buy from eBay and use PayPal......do all the correspondence through PayPal using "Contact Seller".  That way the folks at PayPal can see everything that was done, and how cooperative the seller was/wasn't.

It makes the claim process much easier....when it become necessary.

Yea DRat

Two times I've had bad experiences on Ebay --- Both times Pay-Pal refunded my $$$ and then went after the Culprit  !    :)

Don't take no C--p , Pay-pal has a financial interest in you being happy .  ;)

'rat: The guys are RIGHT .    Let EBay and PayPal handle it for you....   You'll get satisfaction and far less frustration.

Oh and Rat....

If you get refunded... and he wants the item back.... charge him double handling fee.... hey, you had to unpack that crap and repack it. :)
He will probably just tell you "keep the *&#%@@! thing...."  ;D ;D

Yes folks, PayPal is the only way to purchase on Ebay.
I have used them on a few occasion to get my money back.
one time my package got picked in the mail....
Just went off radar.
It was almost here following the tracking.
I contacted seller, they said basically, tuff. You can see I shipped it, not their problem.
Paypal said otherwise  ;D

Raydawg:

Yep....it is the seller that has the "contract" with the shipper, and even when making a damage claim it is the responsibility of the shipper to file the claim.

It is the buyers responsibility to get the payment to the seller....and the seller must get the product to the buyer.

And be sure to give the seller a bad review including your rant here (just copy / paste it)
One of the first things I doe when I see something on the 'bay I want is check the seller's rep, and if it's bad, with some rants like yours, I don't buy from them

One thing I learned when buying something used on eBay, I "save page as..." on my PC and print the ad, then if the item is NOT what is advertised simply send pic of item with .mht file of ad.
