Title: Using exhaust studs instead of stock bolts Post by Ruttly on 02/07/16 at 23:40:49 Has anyone replaced the exhaust flange bolts with studs & nuts ? Any better or worse ? Most bikes use studs & nuts. Opinions please. |
Title: Re: Using exhaust studs instead of stock bolts Post by Dave on 02/08/16 at 03:16:30 A few have done it. If you choose to - don't put a stud in there that will rust and get stuck in the head. Use stainless with some never-sieze on the threads, and a brass or stainless nut....with plenty of never-sieze during assembly. |

Title: Re: Using exhaust studs instead of stock bolts Post by Ruttly on 02/08/16 at 14:32:58 Hey Dave forgot to mention that in my world all bolts get either loctite or pure nickel never-seize & no dry bolts/nuts as a rule. Thanks again. |
