Does anyone have a chain kit available with all the spacers and sprockets/chain available as a kit? Or part numbers of what to buy? I'd like to keep it almost at stock ratio maybe gear it up a bit to lower the RPM on the freeway.

I'm tired of the belt squeaking and whirring sound it makes. It almost sounds like a bad bearing. I checked the tightness and it appears OK. 8-)

You don't say How you checked the belt tension.
The front pulley has been known to get loose. That's a bad thing and should be checked. The front pulley cover is Supposed to have pads that stop vibration induced noises. The belt guard can make noise. Rear wheel alignment matters.

And everything needed to swap to a chain is well covered in the tech section.

I've seen one for sale in the marketplace on the forum also.

Ryca also sells other sprockets in case you want to experiment with gearing. According to Ryca the kit is pretty close to stock.

I used the belt tension tool in the tool kit. I placed it in the notch on the frame and tightened the belt to the middle line. Then I made sure that both rear wheel adjusters were at the same notch. I checked the pulley on the engine and it is tight.

I just like the good old fashioned chain and sprockets.

The consensus on the forum is that using the tool supplied by Suzuki results in a belt that is too tight.

This is the recommended ( by forum members with a lot of experience - I take no credit for it - I learned it here) method:

My belt is adjusted this way and has never made any noise.

OK thanks for the tips. I'll check it tomorrow and post results. Maybe the tool is worth it's weight in brass?

That's not real accurate. I only use my marks as a best guess before I actually measure with a tape measure. Just make sure to use the same point on both sides to get an accurate measurement.
