I know of a few, for real, goofball laws, and, goofballs Write the laws, so, I am an easy mark. We used to have the Blue Law in Texas. Stuff you couldn't buy on Sunday. IDK if it's true but I heard that they used to ban sales of alcohol on election day. That's probably true, and they repealed it, because clearly, it wasn't making a difference. |

The very first hit, or the first answer on the top of the page was snopes. I opened that link and read it there. Edit: I went and looked again, I think I didn't read far enough ;D Apparently it is mixed, in fact and fiction, then goes on to explain all sorts of numbers, etc, that I just said, fooey too, I will just report, you decide :-* |

I see now that was snopes purpose all along. They went into a long discussion about how stats are misleading and this and that... leading to a mixed outcome. But never did respond to the question, 'did crime go up in Aus. after gun ban' You may not have a gun but a criminal still does what a criminal does. |
