Title: Fuel tank model differences Post by iRocco on 06/23/15 at 18:38:14 Took the bike to the shop because I could not figure out why it was leaking gas. They said that someone had JB welded a hole and it wasn't holding. So I look on various web sites for parts and come up with several possibilities. I have no idea the differences and whether they're interchangeable. MODEL K2/K3 MODEL K4 MODEL T/V/W/X MODEL Y/K1 The diagrams all look about the same... anyone know how to tell which I might need? |
Title: Re: Fuel tank model differences Post by Dave on 06/24/15 at 04:39:39 Other than paint and decals....the only differences that I am aware of is the shape of the speedometer hole may have changed a bit...and the California models don't vent though the fuel cap and they have a tube vent tube that connects to an can mounted on the muffler mount. Sometimes the rear tank mount can crack the tank and cause a leak.....somebody might have tried JB weld on that. However JB Weld is not fuel proof and will eventually break down if exposed to gasoline. |

Title: Re: Fuel tank model differences Post by iRocco on 06/24/15 at 20:03:25 Thanks. Turns out the choice is limited by what's left... I ordered one and we'll see if I get lucky or not. |
