Qatar is hosting the 2022 World Cup. To build the stadiums, they are bringing in hundreds of thousands of migrants that they essentially turn into slaves as soon as they are inside the country. That's a 20 minute video. Definitely worth a watch.

Makes me appreciate everything I have here, and in comparison to most US residents I'm "poor".

Prisons are for profit corporations mostly now. Same people own the hotel the visitors use. Let the media keep your focus on those horrid other countries, like Libya.

This is a common practice throughout the muslim/arab world. At least Qatar is rich.
I often get a wild hair about looking up some exotic location... so I tried Mauritania ... oh hell no... look it up for yourself.
