My lack of computer knowledge(let alone my lacking in other areas) is becoming more pronounced as the years go by. One thing that eludes me is the use of the smilies on this site. Often I click on the desired facial expression only to get a semblance of it - such as :'( what's the trick ?

When you create a new post check below for checkmarks.
Most often, all of the boxes should be open.

I've never checked any of the boxes. All three are open now. :( :( When I click on Preview it shows the smilies. Any ideas ?

Also - I just noticed that my posting count stayed at 130 despite these last two(or am I still hallucinating) ? I'm trying to catch up to justin_o_guy2 ;D ;D

I've had the same problem. The box that says "check this if you don't like smilies" is unchecked but the smilies don't show up. I don't think I'll lose any sleep over it though.
