Title: Sony
Post by WebsterMark on 12/19/14 at 09:38:32

When the danish cartoon fiasco occurred a few years ago, some people suggested every newspaper in the world should have publish those Mohammad cartoons on their front page.

I happen to agree with the point of view. I also think it's pathetic for Sony to cave in the way they did.

Every university, who always claim free-speech is of paramount importance, should have a midnight showing of Team America.

better yet wait for cloud cover over NK and project the offending movie over every major city and audio over the radio.

I heard someone suggest bombing run. Drop millions of DVDs of the offending movie on North Korea. Of course I don't know how many average North Koreans have DVD players, or even electricity, for that matter.

I heard some group plans to put DVDs on balloons and let them drift on NK. Seems like you'd need a lot of balloons!

Any publicity is good publicity. They'll probably still make millions.

I hope so. I don't care all that much for Hollywood, or Sony pictures for that matter, but I am a big fan of Capitalism. I think it would be really ironic if Kim- Un- Puttyface's shenanigans turned a crappy comedy into one of the biggest money making  movie blockbusters of all time.

There's another angle to this which is the irony of Hopey-Change trashing Sony's bowing to terrorist over a movie when it wasn't that long ago that he blamed a terrorist attack on a movie and then later turned the irs loose on the director to punish him.

I don't know.
I'm not necessarily for capitalism but I'm very "Don't you tell me what to do!"
But where do you draw the line with offensive material?
I'm also very "Free Speech" so I let a lot go.

Like when the Jackass movie was released. Critics gave it zero stars. I enjoyed it, for what it was. It wasn't redeeming social commentary, it was dumb slapstick fun.
Well, maybe that movie wasn't for that critic that reviewed it and it was undeserving of a zero star rating.

I think it should've been released.

My daughters idea is Sony should release for free on the internet.

I don't know enough about cyber security to really have an opinion one way or another, but I found this interesting:

Reading through the comments at the end of the article, it appears that the FBI's credibility with a lot of people isn't much better than North Korea's  :-/
