Thanks guys, sometimes it is helpful hearing feedback on parts places. I have bought a lot of automotive parts online in the past, some real good and some not so good.

I bought a rear tire & front brake pads at JP Cycles. They sent the wrong pads, but seems they are trying to make things right, so we will see in a few days.  The tire is not due until tomorrow, so I hope that is what they advertised. Dunlop was the only one I found to make the 140/80-15 for some reason. Maybe I should have went with a wider tire on the back?  :-/

Try, 130/90-15
Might be a better selection?

Looks: Probably not as good.

Ride: Probably better.

Would that be a wider tire?

Hey, I just wanted to say that when I just recently had to purchase a rear tire I looked all over the web, found what I thought was the best deal, and then I called my shop (Orion Motorsports, Tallahassee, FL) and they quoted me a price for the tire mounting and balancing that was less than I could purchase the tire alone online (I was looking at the tire online). Sometimes it doesn't hurt to call the locals if you are lucky enough to have them.

In a tire, all tires, the first number is how, 'Wide', it is.
The second number is, how, 'Tall', it is.
the 3rd number, is the, 'rim' size.

Now you can change, the to first two, 'to a degree';
but not the 3rd one, (unless you get a different rim/s)

Factory rear is 140/80-15
I found, it was hard to find a, 'set', that are the same.
It was easier, to find a 'set', going, a bit narrower, and a bit taller,
(130/90-15)   (MT-66's)

Many people put on a 140/90, or a 150/90,

BUT, they, 'may', rub the inside bolts of your fender.

I Like the, 'bit', taller and narrower.

If you are building a, 'special' bike, and need something, 'special' for that rim/style/looks.   Than talk to a, Tire, expert.  not to a goof ball, on the internet,  who just's want to sell you, 'any ol tire'.

But it all depends all on what, you, want to do.

The thing to do, is look for, 'fresh' tires. (a year old at the most),
and a, 'set'. (Made in the SAME Country !)
The rubber compounds are  DIFFERENT, as to where they are made !
Ya ONLY got, 2 tires on a Bike,  NOT 4 !

On my cage, sure I will put different tires on front and rear,
BUT,  BOTH, fronts are the SAME, and Both Rears are the SAME.

Some people on this list will disagree,
but when I am leaning over on a curve,
I want  GOOD  Rubber  !

One friend has a Sportster, the dealer took her for $350.00 for a rear tire. My son has a Sportster and went to a guy who has a independant shop that specializes in HD, put a Shenko and new brake pads for just under $200.00.

I just got my Dunlop tire in today. Now just got to decide wether to attempt to change it myself or take to someone. I do have GOOD mc lift with a jack and drop out plate in the rear. Just briefly look at tire machines, but have only found pro machines. I have a HF automotive manual changer that only cost $60. and works great. Changed over 300 tires on it so far. Would like to find a cheap but functional mc tire machine.
