Title: Oh gah ... another 3 weeks!
Post by Pine on 06/06/14 at 07:18:15

So.. MS has been flooded for entire GOP senatorial race. I love it.

NOTE: I voted for McDaniel

Even I thought that McDaniel had no chance to win, but he did get the majority of the vote (they are now in a run off).

So why the fuss? Heres the "REAL deal":
Thad is 71 years and basically is wore out. he did not want to run. But the lobbyist OWN HIM. If he leaves the lobbyists ( esp H. Barbour) louse their clout and that means MONEY. So their plan get Thad to run ( and win) and then he can retire. When he does Barbour will tell the current governor who to choose to replace him for the remaining 6 years. It will be a Barbour bought and paid crooney. That insures Barbours power and money for another six years... in ensure HE gets to pick the next senator!

Now the Washington GOP types ( not Barbour) are concerned .. Thad did NOT trounce this upstart TEA-bagger. Which means IF Chris does win... he may not play ball as nicely as they want, afterall they did not back him, and made sure everyone knew they did not want him. OOPS.

But the DEMs are excited as well!!! So if Thad does loose... then it does open the door to a DEMOCRAT victory for senator. GAWD more washington ADs from PACs and groups no-one in MS knows about or cares about.. and you can be sure not one of them gives a darn about MS.. they just want that seat.

So what says Pine... the super conservative anti-any party voter. I say better the liberal democrat than the owned pretender repub.. but hoping that Chris McDaniel can in fact .. pull a rabbit out of this hat.

Hold on for a bumpy ride!   8-)

I hate the dems & repubs, business as usual won't work. If they don't stop spending more than budget allows, we (and our children) are doomed..

the Tea Party is the only chance we got, long shot yes but all we got..

the general public does not understand, if the deficit remains our economy will NEVER recover. We are barely paying the interest.
We are rolling down a hill that's getting higher & higher, with economic destruction at the bottom.

The politicians know this but don't care.. proof their own wealth means more to them than the people they serve

I've heard that Thad has a good chance at the chair of the appropriations committee.  Is that accurate?

It is MY state.. and its either Koch brothers or Haley Barbour as "buying" it.. it is not acceptable to pretend it was not already bought.

However... there is another three weeks.. and the dems smell blood.

MS State senate seat for sale... next bidder!!

I have not heard that. Though it would be a great rumor for Barbour to start. I am considering finding a booky to place a bet on how long until Thad retires if he is elected. NOTHING that anyone claims Thad "could" do if re-elected counts if he retires (AND HE WILL). Thad is doing this for the old guard GOP .. for the lobbyists that own him. He did not want to run.  Barbour will say anything to get Thad elected. Barbour NEEDS Thad so he can retire in office so Barbour can hand pick his replacement.

PS: I do not discount the good that Thad has done for the state. He (was) not a bad guy. He however, IS beholden to those in Washington MUCH above and beyond anyone in MS.

PPS: Our governor, does not see eye to eye with barbour.. but is too smart to fight him. He WILL do what-ever Barbour TELLS him to do ( or be kicked out of the GOP). ( or worse marginalized)

Which was in response to funding from another super-pac supporting the incumbent. You think kochs are any different than a dozen other liberal doners?

The funny part is how all of a sudden you guys got a memo last year and the kochs became the only guys using their own money. Every hear of George Soros? Please......   Msnbc has told you when in doubt, throw out "Koch brothers" and flash a photo of the two old guys in Trading Places!

Just like the Citizens United case, gripe and complain, but just like the Kochs who counteract established Republicans, all that decision did was to counteract unions who enjoy federal protection for their racket.

Soros admitted to funding the "rebels" in Ukraine, I think it was.. Soros has been manipulating policy world wide for decades. The Kock brothers,, step back & take a look.. Demonized in the media,, who else have we seen demonized who later it became clear wasnt what the media said?

Why is the media so silent on the Bilderberg meetings? They dont demonize that.
My attitude now is generally, if the media is smearing someone, I need to look at them VERY carefully. There is a more than fair chance theyre actually working to accomplish good things for The People..

There is a difference...
The time to be suspicious of billionaires influencing policy,... is when every policy they influence is to the benefit of the 1%, and to the detriment of everyone else...
Privatize SSI, privatize public schools, cut welfare, no minimum wage, no healthcare... pull every safety net out from under us... and it's all good for billionaires.  They'll never suffer....
Meanwhile,...  the vast majority of bankruptcies are related to health issues...
Billionaires will never have that problem...

When billionaires are putting money out to a party that would help poor and middle class folk, and not benefit billionaires,... I don't need to question their motives...

How foolish are you,.. if you are defender of billionaires at the expense of working people?...
Koch money, supports Koch interests and policies that benefit Koch...
... and they've given you the talking points to defend them...
It's their hand you feel up yer' arse...  controlling your mouth...
You are billionaires hand puppet... ;D...

I never worked for a por guy.
Meaning the success of business is the success for all.
Privatized SS would be great. More charter schools would nice. Minimum wage where it is works fine. No one EVER said no healthcare. Who said that?
What does it matter if billionaires don't go bankrupt? You think you are entitled to their money? You want it, go make more or be honest and go beg for some billionaire to give you money. Don't elect someone to do your dirty work.

What I believe, Shorty, is that Demo policies do not give advantage to billionaires at the expense of middle and low income...
The gap is big enough already...

Web, continually says,.. the rich make the jobs, give them the breaks and everyone will benefit...
.. but, not so my friend...
The rich only create jobs when demand goes up... Demand is driven by the number of people with money to buy things...
As a percentage of income,... the rich actually spend less...
Give rich people more money and they already buy everything they want... so they save it, or invest...
Give the poor money, and it flows almost immediately back into the system...
Money being spent, crates jobs and wealth...
Jobs aren't a charity the rich provide... they add jobs when they need more production... that's when people are buying stuff...
8-)...

thanks for the explanation, just don't be naive enough, or tricked into thinking one party loves you and the other don't.. thats blindness 8-)

same kinda nonsense as: we need big govt to protect us.
That kinda thinkin' is what put the wolves in charge of the chickens  ;)

Absolutely, 100% wrong! I say they (and all of us, regardless of income level) pay enough now. We have a spending problem, not a tax problem. And you have an envy problem. You think it's sooooooo....unfair someone has a bunch of money and you don't....    Quit your crying....live your own life.

IF IN Fact we must bow to the JOB CReators, then lets slow down & see just who we need to bow to..

Best Ive heard is
The number of RICH people are GROWING.. Now,. I have no problem with people makin $$$,, thats fine.. BUT
I DO take issue with the "Those are the job Creators".. They are the ones Most ABLE to create jobs,, but that doesnt necessarily mean thats what theyre gonna DO..If they dont know what tax policies, wage requirements, health insurance issues theyll be up against as employers, maybe there better off just sitting on their $$$...
Because, as we can see, even with an increasing number of rich people, we have fewer jobs,,

Its not gonna be anything those not in MS would care read.. and its no big deal.. got got a little butt hurt.

I was pulling for Ron Paul and we had a little group.. NOT TEA PARTY.. the tea party had such a tiny a presence here. they were nothing. Anyway I got talked into being a district delegate in Hinds county ( for out of state folks thats the most populated county in the state and where the capital city is). I attended the Hinds county convention.. and wow... they really pulled some nuts. We had no illusions that Ron Paul would get the nomination but I figured it would be a "fair" loss. Not so. The Hind's county GOP is run out of Clinton (my home town) The state GOP is run by Greg Harper (Rankin county) and of course Barbour.  Greg Harpers son was hired by the Mitt Romney campaign. The GOP in the state is a very c( as in very very very) closed club. Anyone that thinks thier vote means ( with in the party means anything) is frankly an idiot. I would have attended the Sate GOP convention, but was not allowed (I did stand around outside). Seem very "democratic?"

The only few saving graces are that the house speaker Phillip Gunn seems to be keeping his distance from the Hinds county GOP to the extent he can (he did not attend the county convention, nor did he attend the state one).  Phillip and I went to high school together, no we werent "good" friends.. but he certainly knows me. His sons ran track with my daughter. People in MS "know things" .. like I went to the funeral of this mother, father, and sister... they were on thier way to watch Phillip play football at Ole Miss when they all died in a tragic car accident that left Phillip and orphan. Thats probably TMI.

anyway you asked.  8-)

I guess I just see the world differently than you guys. I make my way in this world in the manner I see fit. If I wanted more money, I'd take a different job, but I'm not pregnant dog!ng about those that do. I don't understand class envy, it's never resonated with me and I lived 10 years poor as dirt.

quote from earlier post:  "We have a spending problem, not a tax problem"... this nailed it boys and girls..

I'm sorry but I can't say it enough, our nation is way past bankrupt and nobody gives a sh*t. Like running deeper & deeper into credit card debt, and doing nothing to fix it, THIS IS A MAJOR FAILURE of the greedy bastards ruling over us..

we can't afford to give away money, services, nothing until the debt is zero..  maybe politicians can take a pay cut, or lose some "perks"

off topic, very sorry  :(

From OUR POV, its a Huge Failure.. Look at the Patriot Act, destroys freedom, 100% UN Patriotic, Our electeds do not & have not ( for decades) legislated in ways the people want.  Who do they really work for? I dont feel like Ive been represented, do you?
