Title: New fork spacers
Post by bobdog on 04/25/14 at 21:07:08

Out of all the retired machinist-engineers. Why isn't sombody making longer, custom length fork spacers ? I could go for a set 9/16ths longer .

Don't need a machinist or engineer for that...
Just buy some tubing the right size, and cut to length...

I just added about 3/4" spacing to mine, using a piece of chin-up bar that fit...
3/4" perked it up a bit, but I would have liked a little more...
...but 3/4" is about all I can squish down and still get the cap on... ;D...

I have 2" spacers in the lower forks to drop it 2" inches.
I was also worried about them being precision cut but then read on here that it's not crucial. Mine are cut and rounded off with an angle grinder and they work fine.
Has quickened the steering and was more the look I was after. But I find they actually cause the front end suspension to not work effectively for where I live, London loads of potholes speedhumps. As soon as I get my other bike on the road I'm tearing it down again and taking them out.
Serow has spacers just at the top for preload (I think?) and I've heard they have a more subtle effect. I think I will try this next.
