Title: Drill Brake Rotor Template
Post by paulmocan on 03/06/14 at 09:07:55

My time has come to share something with you guys. I enjoy the community very much, so here goes.
I am currently working on the "transylvanian rebuild": http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1392544822 and part of the build is drilling the brake rotor. I started with a picture, and some dimensions, and went on doing a model of the rotor. Here is a picture of what I came up with.http://https://googledrive.com/host/0B3CoUn9dGkYfRlJxXzBrZzFfN0E/Brake Template.png
I took the design and on a CNC machine I cut a piece of MDF 3.1mm thick as a template. Tomorrow I plan on taking the rotor and the template to a professional to drill it out. After that I will take it to a different shop to get the disc "rectified" (I hope this is the correct word for it).

Here is a link to the Google SketchUp file. If anybody needs, I can provide the G Code for the CNC machine also.

Hope this helps.
