Title: raptor petcock installation questions
Post by Kirill Timofeev on 02/03/14 at 21:23:46

Here is quote from this thread: http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1251932429/1

Disconnect the fuel line at the carb, and run the hose into a gas can.
Turn the petcock to prime and let the gas drain into the can.
Remove the vacuum line, and block off the vacuum tap on the carb... (use a screw, gas resistant rubber cap, golf tee,.. whatever)...
Remove the old petcock (two screws)...
Install the Raptor with the same two screws..
Connect the fuel line...
Turn Raptor to on position...

More questions which I failed to find answers using search:

1. What to do with lines, that were attached to carb?
2. Do I need different fuel tank cap, or old one would work just fine?
3. Can I eliminate charcoal filter after raptor petcock installation?

I'm sorry if those are already answered somewhere, please point me to appropriate threads in this case.

The vacuum line that went to the stock petcock will need to be plugged. Many ways to accomplish that. You can pull it off & buy rubber vacuum caps at any parts house, keep a spare with you if ya do. They get old & leak.
All other lines on the carb stay the same,

You WILL need a gold plated, ruby encrusted gas cap to complete the modification PROPERLY,, But, if ya just dont wanna spend that $$$, keep the stock cap, It will work just fine,,

Sorry, dude, I cant answer the other question.. I personally believe you can strip it off,, but Im not sure, so, lets dont go RUSSIAN into anything!
Awwrite??

What's with the charcoal filter?  I took the old one off, put the new one on.  Took off the vacuum line and bought a small pack of rubber caps for where the old vacuum line was.  Am I overlooking anything?

Thanks for information and video link pgambr and justin_o_guy2, looks like I had wrong understanding of breathing system, for some reason I thought that it is related to original petcock.

Gold plated gas cap with ruby... I bet nobody here did such mod ;).
