Post by raydawg on 06/09/13 at 04:55:21

What is it that you get from being so negative and antagonistic? Is it just an INTERNET thing or do you act this way in person? Are you saturating yourself with news programs from a source that holds similar views as your own?
I'm not trying to chide you in any manner, sorry if it appears as such, this format leave so much to be desired when it comes to dialog, and I'm wondering if my read/take on you is correct. To me it seems you're bitter at life, and you spend a lot of time justifying it, anger appears to be readily present in your life....even your tag line boast as such, as you direct it at others?????

I just read Starlifters last 25 posts and I did not see any negative and antagonistic writing. I also read your  last 25 posts. Neither of you seem negative or antagonistic to me. We all have our own personal styles and interest (Suzuki Savage/S40's shared interest) Some of your writings are very entertaining with a style that should make HallMark jealous.

I, myself, also have my particular writing style and interests. I try to avoid being negative, but I will criticize when I feel it is justifiable. I also try to avoid labeling myself in a left/right--liberal/conservative manner. Those that do are defining themselves with narrow characterizations. That plays into the divide and conquer disposition of certain controlling forces (ex. government). Why can't a person have views that vary from liberal to conservative in degrees on various issues?

I am comfortable with who I am. I have 61 years of experience living my life. Also my dogs love me and they are excellent judges of character. :)

Star tells the group exactly how it is. Sometimes we disagree but we don't let it come between us and life goes on. Star and I have communicated outside the forum and as far as I'm concerned he's a great person. If someone doesn't disagree with whats going on in Washington we'll be taken for the ride of our lives.

I disagree with so much that the Pro Military say.

Let me assure you, dying while in uniform does not a "hero" make.,.
Not one military "intervention" I can think of since Ive been an adult was necessary to the future of America for the safety, security or prosperity of the People.
I dont understand "Thanking" them for their service , since their use of weapons against those in other places accomplished nothing towards saving America from a threat. Dont want terrorism? Stop messing with other people,.,

People join the service for many reasons. education, patriotism, travel, etc.. I too served in the Navy when I was young. I can't blame the people that join, because like me, they believe the propaganda that the matrix programs them to believe not realizing that the wool is being pulled over their eyes..
It is the scum that control the matrix and mess with other people and countries that are to blame. It is the greedy that are only concerned with becoming more wealthy that have under-thrown the government that great men of the past created. Ever notice that all the countries that the U.S. has invaded to protect the poor people from an evil leader in the recent past have all been sitting on some wealthy resource? Of course these critters pretending to have the interests of U.S. will create propaganda in order to sell these invasions to the gullible.

Heck, I joined. I wore the Nam service medal, tho, I never left the states. I was in the Air Farce from 73 to 76. Im not denigrating those who "serve" Im just saying that That "Service" , regardless of Why they believed they should sign up, was not necessary to keep America free from
some threat. My rights arent being ruined by anyone outside of DC.

"To me it seems you're bitter at life, and you spend a lot of time justifying it, anger appears to be readily present in your life."

Hi raydawg!

Anger?? Not a happy person?? ...yup, you misread me big time!

Woo Hoo! I do cartwheels in the green grass of happiness and skip high towards the blue heavenly skies of joy! ;D

Ha ha, all kidding aside. I don't let anyone's insecurities, emotions, or opinions bother me. I know that if I am happy, that's all that matters to me.

One of my most pleasant and fulfilling couple of hours a day is coming to this site and verbally sparring with, or amicably agreeing with all my friends here.

I live with the love of my life, we still have pretty good health, and all of our needs are met. I think that is the quintessential definition of happiness.

BTW -  My tagline? meh, just reflects my political views.

Good deal, thanks. As I stated, this format leaves a lot to be desired, kinda hard to really grasp the fine nuance from fun sparring/debating, to lock, stock, and barrel closed mindedness, or at least it is for me in this arena  :D

I think them for their service, whether it was morally right or wrong. A lot of brainwasinging and lying went on from Washington and at the time they give up 2-4 years of the best age of their life. At the very least they didnt sh!t in their pants for a week like Nuge to get out of it. A lot of them were brainwashed by Recruitment Agents. Talk to some of those guys now, they have a whole new perspective on war.

All gung-ho for war but too chickensh!t to join the military. You two would rather be nameless faces cackling about how great war is instead..

And Jesus God! People like you two are allowed to vote and drive cars?? And breed??? Good God in heaven, the end times must be near.

You think your stupid rightwing screeds sway the opinion of intellagent people here?...than you two are dumber than I thought.

Oh, and another thing Daney, You like Webster, are just one more ignoramus in a long line of them I have dealt with in the past... Oh wait, I mean "IgnorANUSE" ...

(Ignoranus: A person who is both dumb as sh!t AND an not a very nice person.)

So, you both think my urging to bring civility and respect to this forum is laughable? (Yes, I should have known better..my bad). You say I doube down on the nastiness?...You aint seen nastiness yet buddy.

So fine, bring it on assholes, you are no match for people who believe in reason and truth.

When you can post a coherent thought in English, we can have a discussion about the relative intelligence of individuals based on ideology.

Until then, F-off.

There is a saying that goes something like you can tell the character of a man by the way he unravels Christmas lights. I believe the point of the saying is that the real person usually comes out when suffering from some sort of anxiety or frustration. It is also said Character is what you do when no one is watching, maybe anonymous posting counts as not being seen, I don't know. Anyway, just sharing my experience with the OP topic.

Update: Oh, and the above comes from the new civility...

I didn't see this until now.

Star; I've caught you flat out lying in the past as well as showing you completely misunderstand simple concepts so for you to even type the words genetic inadequacies tells me it was another cut and paste by you.

and Surprise! Surprise! Star cites his military service yet again! You sound like John Kerry!

You are the stereotypical little guy with a big gun, car, boat etc... compensating for what he knows he doesn't have. Your constant bravado about your service tells us a lot about the your time there....

Why don't you try being a bit more honorable about the uniform and shut the hell up about it......

Raydawg: Dane loves to pull threads out of context and out of the blue without regard to what was the norm at that time and what dane posted to provoke that and throw them into the middle of an un related topic.

That should provide you with the context you need.

I was wondering what was taking you soo long to dodge, deflect and evade.

Out of context? What a joke!!!
The norm at the time?? Even funnier  ;D ;D
And what I posted to "provoke" the response? Yes, please, everyone go see if what I posted warranted such a viscious and violent response. It proves the civility nod was just a farce in the first place and he was never serious about it.

That is why it took you soo long, there is no defense for that but it won't stop you from trying!  ;D ;D I'm kinda disappointed that you didn't have a better ruse or tangent to foist on us rather than just naked "blame the victim" tired meme of old.

All from the guy that calls us teabaggers and rape supporters. Context...what a joke!!! ;D ;D ;D

(oh, and thanks for helping get my post count up - inside joke from another thread :) )

ONCE AGAIN for the very hard of comprehension - No one is calling you anything ...

I call TEA baggers TEA baggers ... not assigning it to you or anyone else.

No one is calling you or any one else here a "rape supporter". I was only calling those that support rape like the posted examples before Todd Akin etc - as rape supporters. Again not assigning it to you or anyone else.

Cool.

Dane.....
I remember hearing, or reading, something many years ago. I'm 60 now, so I'll guess I was in my early teens.....
I don't know who its attributed to, but it goes like this, "You lie the loudest, when you lie to yourself."

I didn't grasp the meaning way back then, but it has always stuck with me. Not till many years later, when I confronted my alcoholism, did I begin to understand its ramifications....

For decades I drank the poison, hoping the other person, would die. You could also say I let situation, and circumstance justify my actions/beliefs, blaming, instead of looking deep inside myself, for the root cause of why I needed to strike out against others, to feel good about myself, which, of course, feeling good was only temporary, just as getting drunk, which provided the same escape.

Peace comes from within, no other person, or government can give it to you...... period.

Dorthy had to screw up the lives of a scarecrow, lion, tin-man, and a couple of witches too, before she came to realize where happiness lies.

What people say is truth, isn't..... all of us think what we believe is truth, its not, only to us. That is why real peace can only come once we accept ourselves, as we are, does it allow us to become free of assumptions, taking things personal, allowing us to be impeccable with our words, and to always do our best...which varies from day, to day.

We are of free will, to choose, our natural state is joy, not anger, love, not hate....

If we experience any of those adverse emotions, we need to eradicate it from our lives so we can be free, and the telling will be in our actions towards others, in a manner that fosters love, and understandings, not self promotion or division.

Think about it.....

AS I read the above I understood & I know it to be true,,

What people say is truth, isn't..... all of us think what we believe is truth, its not, only to us.

OOOPS,, Not so,, Often we are correct. What we say IS true. Others who dont agree? Well,, theyre still lying loudly.. to themselves,

Neither right nor left are perfect, both have their faults and I would consider it a mistake not to make a new friend. Yes, it was directed at you, lifter had already chimed in. I thought that put a bow on the matter, but you felt so motivated to attach that reply/response which gave me the impression you were not done with this thread, and wanted to rebut his reply to me......even tho you say I had such an experience (exchange) with him, you're mistaken on that summation for he has never, nor I, exchanged such descriptive verbiage.

But if you all agree to this type of exchange, by all means, continue on, or "As you were"  :-*

And that is kind of the position I find myself in with no easy answer. I was being pulled in several directions when you started this thread.  On one side, I am a believer in that lying with pigs only gets you muddy but especially I don't think everyone else in the TT wants to see that kind of viscious back and forth between members. I could easily go toe-to-toe and throw the vile right back at him but I chose not to. It accomplishes nothing other than proving I can be an A-hole too, but that's not me.

This is a forum about motorcycles with a "roped off" area where people can spar with each other over politics and religion, probably to keep this out of the Cafe or other parts of the forum and is a great idea. So do I ignore it this thread? Do I give him a platform to lob more hate at me and my like minded cohorts? Do I throw in a couple cheap shots? I decided to let his own words speak for him and let you all be the judge.

If you think that kind of verbiage is acceptable then that is your decision. If you think I had it coming, that is your decision. If you think no one deserves that, so be it. Your thread appears to have be created out of an observation that you had, I am sharing what I observed and expienced. I guess I could have just copied the post and not added anything at all. Anyway, I have made a conscious decision to not read the person's posts or interact with them in an effort to not subject myself or anyone else to this sort of whatever-you-wanna-call-it again.

Yes, and we have a love of motorcycles in common. Srinath, at times, has some very comeplling points and other times he is way off base. I thought the whole Bilder-bear discussion with JOG was hilarious, and I know Sri tries to rile us up on purpose. The only thing I will say is he's been remided several times that the teabagger slur and pro-rape thing are extremely offiensive to some people and has been asked to stop. That will go a long way to bringing true civility to this forum.

If ever in NC, I will stop by, unless you have Sero's "No Lowlifes" policy.  ;D ;D ;D
