Title: Almost Finished
Post by paulmarshall on 12/19/12 at 19:41:27

Changed a few things around like turning the handle bar rises around. This has positioned me into a upright position which is much more comfortable. And I fitted new rear suspension.
The bike is wonderful to ride. :D

Very nice Paul, what's happened to the aircleaners and how did the WOF person react to the digital speedo set up?

It was my local bike shop who gives my WOF also supplied my Trailtech. ;)

Rowboats ride & that kinda purplish thing Demin did are the only ones I can think of that could sit next to it on equal footing, IMO.

Great looking scoot.  It really is unique.  Are you going to add any decals or custom paint to the bike?

Yes I would like to. Not sure what colour/color. Just brought a Black & white helmet so maybe keep with that scheme.

Open for suggestions.

You're going to make a black and white customized police version? Cool... My farmhand has pics of an early CB450 police package he used to own... I'll have to see if Lisa knows how to scan and post them.

Looks good so far.

Hmm, I dont really want to resemble the Police.  :-/ Maybe a third colour/color is needed?

Green and gold on white? No, that's most county sheriff colors...

Reversed color Jolly Roger maybe? Snow leopard spots (gray and black on white)? Alpenjaeger camo?

Get you a pair of older style Suzuki tank emblems in the gold colour.http://www.reproductiondecals.com/default_frameset.html?content.html~main
Scroll down to ST 10 in the Suzuki tank badge section.
I would do some brass plating on stuff too.

Maybe add decals, if you wish Paul, the bike is so clean, virginal and pure that it perhaps should be left as you have done it. It is a beautiful sight to behold. Particularly the headlamp.

Still think of "Mister Clean" every time I see it! ;)  Some von dutch style pinstiping  would certainly set it off. :)

I did the rise the front seat mod today. I used Rubber door stoppers and longer bolts. Because I have a custom tank I cut the tank mount off the original tank and used to mount seat. This mod does improve sitting comfort when riding.

Front seat lift

That is a very practical solution.  Nice.

Might be tempted to nickname it the white knight.
But simply the white horse could do as well.

Name your white horse Paco,, short for Apocalypse..
PLenty of good white horse pics online you might consider having a decal of made for it. Or, all white is Great, truly striking monochrome approach. Maybe in a few years add a touch or two? So many ways to go with it with a start like that. Enjoy as is till your heart says it needs somethin new..surely in a coupla years youll look at it & "see" some pinstriping or some kinda art on the tank or a small "hood ornament" on the fender.

Then your bike will have theme music!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3KrL7BQBpc

Paul, I would be very much inclined to leave well alone. If you must, add some aesthetically pleasing Suzuki ID. Pinstriping won't help and I feel will compromise the purity of the bike. Be very wary of expressions such as "cool" or "badass".

Very nice scoot. The only thing that I would do to it would be to ditch the chrome head covers. I like the gnarly old engine look, but that's just me. Your bike is definitely rockin it!   :D

Hi everyone, I used to be on this forum back in 2003 when I got my first street bike a 2001 savage. I have had 7 bikes since then but still have a warm spot in my heart for the thumpers. Anyway I wanted to say very nice job paulmarshall, that is one awesome looking bike good job!! :)

Super sweet bike. The details are awesome.  On the work table, is that a T-shaped dual side intake you made for the bike?

I say slap an Alabama Crimson Tide decal on each side of the tank and run a crimson racing stripe along both fenders. Now that would be unique in your country.

Thinking I might go back to original tank?

;D doing a 600km road trip this weekend & need more than a 120km tank range  :-[
So back to the stock tank for long trips 8-)

Title: Re: Almost Finished
Post by jcstokes on 01/06/13 at 16:27:18

For someone with your skills Paul, you have both options which makes good sense. Stock tank for longer rides, other tank for shows and short rides. The stock tank is fine on the bike. Make sure you have a Raptor on the stock tank to avoid scratching things. Dare I risk saying you could put S40 sidecover badges on the stock tank, but leave the other tank alone.

I think some of the older Savage tank decals were nice lookin,, just sayin,.,

Post by prsavage on 01/07/13 at 09:20:08

If you are asking for opinions, I think the Savage tank is the wrong choice.  The bike looks way better in your first pic.

Is it paint or powdercoat on the exhaust? Also great job on the build, the white is classy and stands out from the sea of black bikes.

Title: Re: Almost Finished
Post by paulmarshall on 05/10/14 at 20:18:37

Sorry for the late reply. The exhaust is painted.
Its back off the road at the moment getting a new look.
