Title: Wanna' see my fuzzy butt?... Post by Serowbot on 12/04/12 at 18:19:28 ;D.... (I crack me up) ..(crack,.. get it?)... Anyway,.. I have touted the comfort, and summer cooling effect of using a faux sheepskin cover on the seat. So here's pic of it installed,.. and a pic of the underside when it's off... My buddy's wife sewed a drawstring around the perimeter, and when it's on it looks just great... http://i600.photobucket.com/albums/tt82/serowbot/rerun/kit021.jpg PS.. Moosehead Lime is really tasty :-?... http://i600.photobucket.com/albums/tt82/serowbot/rerun/pulley016.jpg |
Title: Re: Wanna' see my fuzzy butt?... Post by Roberto1444 on 12/04/12 at 19:30:04 The texture looks nice, and comfy (as long as it doesn't get wet). But what I really like is that it doubles as a beret. |

Title: Re: Wanna' see my fuzzy butt?... Post by Greg on 12/05/12 at 04:58:08 After seeing the photo, I wonder if I can use a toilet seat cover! ;D I still need something like this. My sheepskin idea didn't work so well. |
Title: Re: Wanna' see my fuzzy butt?... Post by SALB on 12/05/12 at 09:04:12 I wonder how real sheepskin would hold up to the elements? http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/en-usd/9066-90.aspx?tcd=12-L30TEM |

I've heard that it works even better,.. but,.. the faux stuff has some stretch to it, so it fits the contours better, and it's washable... so, I prefer the fake stuff... Mine also has a rubber/foam backing which adds cushion... It's also cheaper... I highly recommend it... (I get 2 or 3 years out of one) (1 running yard of material will make at least 2 covers, for $8 to $12 ...;)... PS... Is anyone else shocked that 85 people have clicked on a thread titled, "Wanna' see my fuzzy butt"?... Of course not... Because if you're reading this,.. you're one of the 85... ;D ;D ;D... |

I tried to make something from a real sheepskin rug. It is very thick. I had a difficult time working with it and couldn't get the seat back on correctly. However, I know nothing of the trade. |

Maybe true for some people. ;D
Yeah, ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D But Arizona is a dry land so Serowbot's beret won't get wet easily. Here rain is always a possibility, so this material wouldn't be adequate, unfortunately. Cause it's way cool to have a smooth material on the seat. It's like wearing suede shoes. There's a double picture on Serow's Bikepics page - below is what I suppose to be an actual protograph of his bike in its former red paint scheme; on top there's what seems to be a photoshop work - simply the coolest (green) Savage I've ever seen. I want that bike and I think I'll deconstruct one like that as soon as I get my hands on a second Savage. A jumping panther, perfect. And a well balanced mix of the American cruiser and the Brit iron of old. I wonder what would be your choice for a handlebar for that bike, Serow, your collage is a little fuzzy on that spot too :o As for his actual bike, it's a strong reference for my project, for my bike in progess. Single seat, bigger shocks, less chrome, low handlebar, even a nice rack. Only, I think I'll not go as high as 12.5" for the shocks, though, will stick to 11.5" to emphasize the panther. |

Have you ever smelled wet sheep?
Have you ever smelled a wet wool sweater? Once cleaned and tanned, the smell goes away. Kinda like a wet dog before and after a bath. 8-) Now me on a hot summer day....... :-[ |
