I have always had an issue finding shoes and boots that fit. I wear a 13 AAA and finally discovered that 13XN military issue boots fit very well. I bought a pair of tan hot weather boots and have used them all summer. I need a pair of cold/wet boots for the fall and found an outlet with new Mickey boots in 13XN.

There seem to be a lot of ex-service men on the forum so if you guys were ever issued these, let me know if they really work to keep your feet warm and dry and if the sole has enough of a heel to hang on the pegs.

If they're the ones I'm thinking of, they are very warm and very clumsy. :( Got pics or a link?

Best fittin boots I ever had were 7 1/2 EEEE..

Yea, IF I could ski, I could ski barefoot.

Hey, Salb, I sure wish I could blame all the times Ive fallen down on my clumsy boots,,,sadly, it has always been the feet in them that caused it..

Yep, those are the ones! >:( They're good for tromping through snow in sub zero temps, but about worthless otherwise. I'm not even sure you could get those under the shifter, and you certainly couldn't feel each gear engage.

Yeah you don't want those. They have no support. They keep your feet warm by keeping an air pocket around them. That's what the nipple on the side is for to pump them up. Kinda like wearing a tire on your feet. They're huge too. Hence the name Mickey Mouse Boots.

ICW's will keep your feet warm. Some mink oil will help soften the leather when they're new.

How can those boots be so cheap? $25 for a pair of military boots? Those have to be $300 boots or more. This just doesn't make any sense to me.

They may have small/slight flaws that made them not worthy of being issued, but doesn't actually make them any less of a boot. But that does seem like an awfully good price regaurdless :)

I still have my pair from when I was in the service and mine are made by Bates. Unless the military switches manufacturers recently, the Belleville brand might be knock offs. The ICW boots cost about $150 to replace if lost when I was in the service.

The ICW boots work well, I wear mine all the time while riding in cold temps.

Just what I wanted to hear. I will go ahead and order them. If my research is correct, Belleville is one of three manufacturers that made the boot for the government.

There has been some concern why these are so cheap. If you guys look at the sizes offered, you will see why. These are true "surplus" and never issued. I guess they order a zillion at a time, so many in each size and these are what is left...size 3, 4, 5, 13, 14, etc. I bought a pair of surplus hot weather boots in the spring in my size, 13XN for $14. Shipping was more than that.

You guys with normal feet will just have to pay retail. "Shoe challenged" folks like me can get a heck of a deal.

My Sorel snowmobile boots are about 40 years old.....and still truckin'! Easy to ride in. Can't believe how expensive they've gotten, though....
