I use HiFlo's... indistinguishable from original.. work fine...

I buy them local for $3.99... Surprised they are so high on Ebay...

Anybody got a cheaper on-line source?...  I seem to remember 3 for $10...

Local? Where?

And is there any from a different bike that would fit?

I use Shell Rotella T (the dino stuff),..
The synth is great, but I'm too cheap to buy it...

I have been changing every 2k,.. but I think I'll go to 3k from now on...
Again,.. 'cause I'm cheap,.. but I think it'll go 3k without any harm...

PS... and now's when everybody tells me I''m wrong...
Go ahead,.. lemme' have it... ;D...

I just wondered if you could get something that fits at Wally World or Autozone etc.
Maybe lawn tractor parts?

Nupe,.. not that I know of...
It's usually in stock in independent bikes shops though,.. 'cause it fits several different models...

My favorite local shop here is CSA (Cycles,Skis, ATV's...)... Tucson...
I try to do all my local buying at the same shop, so they know me by name...  You can get better deals that way,... and keep a local guy in business...
;)...

Ive been payin around $4.00 for the Hiflo locally, I use Rotella Dino, I change it when the oil consumption rate goes up, usually around 2,500 miles,

ralfyguy I work for a large mower/small engine dealership. I checked our oil filter stock(all the main engine manufacturers) and found nothing even close to matching our filter.

I have never seen oil consumption rate go up on a motorcycle or a car.

If the price were the same for the rotella and rotella t6 is it better to use the 5-40 rather than the 15-40?Thanks ,serowbot and JOG for your answers.( and everyone else).

I don't know how others feel, but myself if the price point was the same I would go for the T6 for the added benefit of the full Syn oil.  Plus the lower viscosity of oil before it reaches operating temps means that on startup it will reach all the wear areas quicker then the 15w-40 will.
