Before I found this forum I had no idea that this could be a problem. I have a 98 Savage with 20,000 plus miles, so far so good. I plan on cracking her open and checking the tensioner. Was going to install it in a 2006, 'just cause', then picked up a 1997 one, had the noise, 'like the CCT' but it was, 'only', out 17.5mm. Which had only 5600 miles on it, BUT, it seemed to be a very 'low' miles per high use, as opposed to, high miles per less uses. And it did not, 'look', like the PO & the PO to that, did the, 'correct' oil. (Thinking I will use it in that one, and pick up another one for the 06.) Some of the roll pins I've used since 10/28/13 maybe defective. Some of them are tapered and if I put in the smaller end, may fall out. Although I test every one, a few may have slipped thru. Well, at least one did. So if you've purchased a verslavy from 10/28/13 till now, be on the alert for the tell tale knocking on the clutch cover. Anyone finding or concerned they may have one, may return it for repair. |

I rode out to meet Venslagen1 to purchase a head plug and retrieve the core on my stock tensioner. Ended up leaving with a pair of quick-release pins too. Very nice guy; he took the time to show his bikes off and also help me with some issues I was having with my own. Apparently my clutch slippage was an improperly tightened clutch lever cable! D'oh! Everything is working great now. Couldn't be happier with the experience. |

I just snapped mine off. The manual said 6-8.5 pounds torque for tensionor plate bolt. 2nd question, do you know where I can get another bolt? |

I ordered a modded tensioner and a head plug for my wife's 03 Savage, everything was great, from his instructions on how to do everything, to the parts themselves, to his refund for the core after I sent the old tensioner back. Hey guys, I am a new rider and '91 savage owner. It has over 28,000km on it. I'm worried it's a ticking time bomb at this point. I picked it up off a guy for pretty cheap, I assume he knew about some of the issues I found while going through the bike, hence the cheap price. But I really love this bike and would like it to last for quite some time. Verslavy, if you would be so kind as to put me on the list for your cam chain adjuster, and also a Head Plug Replacement. it would be much appreciated. I am hoping to get them this week if it is possible. Wasted 2 days to find the power supply was DOA. Replaced it w/2 m/c batteries in series and everything works. Settings adjusted, calibrations made, now for the programming. Hopefully I'll be able to continue to use the existing programs. I should be back up and running by this weekend one way or another. |

Far less power is being consumed then before and the motors are stronger. The system hates laptops because windows will put it to sleep even though you've disabled all the sleep routines. So, I have to tickle it every so often or it will disconnect. So I got all the orders machined, just not in time to go to the post office. |

Just need a few more things to call it complete. 1. Right side chrome tool kit cover. I maybe don't need the lock and key if there is another way to keep it from falling off. 2. Savage decal for the right side cover. Does not need to be year correct. 3. Left side cover. Black with decal would be plug and play. I can repaint if it is another color, but would also like the decal. 4. One front and one rear turn signal stay. The present signals are working, but held in place with duct tape.
