Title: Fictional Wiring Diagram
Post by beacon on 11/03/11 at 18:58:04

Has anyone else found the wiring diagram in the factory repair manual to not match what is on their bike, and to be inaccurate as well? On my 2006 the wire colors don’t match the ones shown in the diagram.
Worse—and somebody please check me on this—the wire routing to the two front turn signals is wrong. The both the left and right positive wires coming from the turn signal switch both go to the right signal (which seems not to have a negative). Are there other goofs as well?

My factory manual or SSM is for an '86... it's in black and white.
Usually I use Clymers and yeah there's some sh!t going on.
Apply salt.

I'm rewiring my bike and have found the same thing. Worried about how correct I'm doing things if I use this as a guide. Anyone else see other problem spots?

Beacon, are you sure your manual is for the correct year of your bike?

looking at a '96 to '03 wiring diagram
the wire from the flasher goes to the turn signal switch
then to each side with separate wires.

Now this diagram makes perfect sense, with one hot wire going to each turn signal. One to left, one to right. Just the way it should. But the diagram for my 2006 is completely wrong, or am I missing something Verslagen?.
I've owned Hondas, BMWs, and Kawasakis and have never seen so many mistakes in a shop manual as I have with this Suzuki. Any other spots where the book is wrong?
