Title: Kewl Metal helmet lock. Post by arteacher on 05/22/11 at 07:16:59 Bought one of these to go on my Isogrips. I used it maybe 10 times. I went to a store yesterday, locked the helmet up, and when I came out it wouldn't unlock. The allen keys in my tool kit are metric, so I went back in the store and bought a cheap sae set and removed the lock from the grip. The store did not have a hacksaw blade to cut the brass pin so I bought a tree pruner- didn't work.(anyone want a tree pruner?) Finally tied the helmet on with the lock still on and rode home where I cut the pin with a coping saw. I reinstalled my old lock and went for a ride to the lake. On the way home I ran completely out of gas. Fortunately a local farmer who was cutting his grass saw me and gave me a couple of liters to get me to a gas station, which was closed. Coasted into the next gas station on fumes. While at the lake I was talking to a guy a bit older than me who had a '61 'Bonnie that he bought new. Nice bike. He has turned the odometer over on it a couple of times. A day in the life. ;D ;D |
