Title: Ryca forum? Post by wombat on 05/13/11 at 08:21:55 Are there enough of us, and is it worth it, to start a sort of sub-forum for Ryca builders to discuss issues and ideas? Or maybe a separate forum on the Ryca site? Any thoughts? Dave |
Title: Re: Ryca forum? Post by MotoBuddha on 05/13/11 at 08:41:19 I don't know why it needs to be, or ought to be, separate. There's a lot of information that crosses whatever dividing line there might be between Ryca projects and the rest of the LS650 world. Should there be a separate forum for bobber conversions? |
Title: Re: Ryca forum? Post by kernel ken on 05/16/11 at 11:58:30 I'm interested in following what everyone is doing with their Ryca kits also. I just mark each thread as a "favorite". It makes it easy to find and I still get to view all the other interesting posts. |
Title: Re: Ryca forum? Post by Yonuh Adisi FSO on 05/16/11 at 12:15:57 I agree with motobuddha, even though I am not personally interested in the Ryca builds, they are still Savage/S40 based so they still need Savage/S40 expertise for any other problems so just keep it the way it is and so it will be easier for everyone. |
Title: Re: Ryca forum? Post by NameNotInUse on 05/16/11 at 13:22:30 I like them being here because I've learned a lot and may one day find myself doing a build myself. But ymmv. |
Title: Re: Ryca forum? Post by Gyrobob on 05/16/11 at 14:00:22 Motobuddha's words are wise. ;-) I think the Savage is so widely adaptable, and enjoyable in so many forms, that the RYCA thing is just another of the ways to get involved,.. and that there is a lot of overlap with other Savage-based endeavors. Besides, if you want to cull out all the RYCA-ish discussions, just do a search for RYCA or CS-1 or cafe or cafe racer,.......etc. (assemble your own real-time forum) |
Title: Re: Ryca forum? Post by Boule’tard on 05/16/11 at 15:49:25 If you guys want to compile a list of the best Ryca build threads, I would be happy to add them to the "Modifications" section of the tech table of contents. That way the "best of Rycas" :D threads can be listed in one place. Also.. if you have split your build into part 1, part 2 etc. please post a link at the end of previous threads, to the next, so the reader can follow them sequentially. Then we can just index part 1. |
Title: Re: Ryca forum? Post by Oldfeller on 05/17/11 at 07:20:15 Somebody needs to bring a completed Ryca up to the list's Dragon run so we can all see how it handles. I know it looks cool and neat, but does it translate into improved performance in the curvies .... Time will tell I guess. |
Title: Re: Ryca forum? Post by BuckHMCC on 05/18/11 at 15:40:26 You raise a good point, Oldfeller. I'm hoping with 30 lbs less weight and more sporty configuration and Progressive suspension that it will handle noticeably better. There was a road test of the Ryca reported in the January issue of Motorcyclist magazine. They said it was a 'light, nimble, and suprisingly quick motorcycle'. That clinched it for me. Time will tell. I am patiently waiting for my kit delivery. I did slow down the process by opting for it pre-painted. Has anyone completed a kit yet? |
Title: Re: Ryca forum? Post by dustin1455 on 05/05/15 at 15:25:06 i think it would be cool/useful to have a section dedicated to custom builds and major mods. having them all in one place would be great. ;D ;D |

Title: Re: Ryca forum? Post by Gary_in_NJ on 05/05/15 at 16:57:08 When I first joined the forum I too thought that a Cafe Racer sub-forum would be useful. After participating in the forums for the last six months I don't think it necessary. Everyone plays well with each other and information is freely exchanged. The build threads referenced above provide useful information and are a great inspiration for ideas. Without a doubt, this forum is the RYCA build resource. |
