Please note that wire colors vary.
But almost uniformly, SOLID BLACK is NOT ground!
Black with a White stripe usually is ground.

On close inspection there are errors in the diagram. Check the routing for the left turn signal- it is reversed at a connector on the diagram.

Here is a diagram of safety circuit for the Savage. The only thing left out is the wire going to activate the starter relay. This splits off after the clutch switch.

Here is the fixed diagram, i stared at it cross eyed for about 15 minutes trying to follow the logic.

Here's a wiring diagram that's listed as being relevant to 2007-2009. I'm sure it works for many years after 2009. Suzuki hasn't changed much since then. I added the colors but the jpeg compression has distorted a few of the wires. It's still readable though.

Cyclepedia has an excellent wiring diagram they were kind enough to send me, but they asked that it not be reposted.

I just want to give a shout-out to them, the diagram is really informative and well done.
