Title: 12vdc power socket Post by Paladin. on 11/11/10 at 16:36:05 A 12vdc power socket, aka a cigar lighter socket. Since I don't have the tool kit, I figure the chrome would be just fine for a weather capable socket. Direct the battery, no fuse, but does have a 2-wire polarized connector so I can remove the battery cover if I need to. http://dslretorts.com/Paladin/images/Thumper/Power3.jpg http://dslretorts.com/Paladin/images/Thumper/Power4.jpg |
Title: Re: 12vdc power socket Post by Joe F on 11/11/10 at 17:38:33 Eastern Beaver has powerlet and lighter sockets. They usually come pre-wired with a fuse. The local BMW shops usually have a selection also since "those guys" are always adding farkle. |
Title: Re: 12vdc power socket Post by wayne929 on 12/06/10 at 17:38:57 id run it through a fuse. with it position and unless garage kept that hole will be wide open to fill up and connect contacts on the first good rain. but looks great in the positioning |

I used a 14 gauge wire. The Carry Current is only 6 amps, a 14 gauge wire is a 170 amp fuse. -- "I Void Warranties" |
