Title: photobucket
Post by klx650sm2002 on 10/08/10 at 06:15:47

I was looking at my images on photobucket the other day and found I had 160 of them so I've printed them all off as thumbnails so I could see what I have and yes I had forgotton a few.
Anyway this is one of my favourites, it is a Harley bottom end with Ducati desmo heads and mikuni flat slide carbs.

good looking Clive, but I cant see why you would mix the best (ducati)
with the worst (HD) I guess they wanted to see if they could.

I suppose they do it just because they can.

I'm with Mick on this. Weakest link on a Harley is the single pin crank. Best feature of a Duck is the Desmodronic valves. Guess it could have been done the other way around for easier valve adj. but you'd still be throwing away a few thousand RPMs. It is beautiful work though. Some of you may have seen it because it gets around but several years back I went to an R/C model show and a guy built an 8th scale funny car with a working V8. I think Clive got it right.

here is a little V8 ,I have no idea if it drives anything.
And another V twin to feast your eyes on.

Hint...look at the sidecover and you'll get a hint of the owner/operator ::)

Oh yea, you know you don't leave the good ones. First picture is last year going to see a friend at Bonneville. That is the Bonneville salt flats in the background. About 2 hours after that shot my friend Bill Ross got the APS 1000 PG (partial streamline 1000cc pushrod gas) record on a Moto Guzzi. He took the record away from Harley Davidson which made it one of my most memorable rides ever.
The next shot was a few months ago leaving for the New Mexico Guzzi Rally with my Tucson Buddy Derral. He's the second fastest rider in Arizona ;)

I'm in the black pants. World of Speed USFRA was just held Sept 14-18. I didn't make since Bill didn't do this one. He was promoted to Fire Capt. in Escondido around Sept 1st so he had other priorities this time. He says for sure next Sept.2011. Maybe we can meet there and I'll intro you to the team. You'll have to root for Guzzi though :P
Check the team page I posted for Info and links. It is something every racer heart should experience at least once. Almost sacred ground in a surreal way.

The good thing about Harley bottom ends is the knife and fork rod design, the bad thing is the 45degree angle.
