This is the total since Monday.  Rain is running across the road in front of my house, I have never seen that in almost 17 years.

Yep, I'm sure it is accurite.  From witn.com/weather:

Rainfall Totals Since Sunday:

Ahoskie 15.57"
Jacksonville 15.52"
Washington 14.21"
Greenville 12.53"
Morehead City 10.56"
Kenansville 10.49"
Kinston 9.96"
New Bern 9.32"
Rocky Mount 8.73"
Goldsboro 8.50"
Elizabeth City 7.27"
Edenton 7.19"
Hatteras 7.26"
Roanoke Rapids 4.44"

Farther south has had more.

From the station in Wilmington, NC, "It is official. We now have the wettest three-day period in Wilmington's history since records started in 1850!  ILM airport had received 19.66" of rain breaking the old three-day record set back on September 15-17, 1999 of 19.06" during Hurricane Floyd."

Tropical Storm Nicole has been absorbed into a trough of low pressure, this is the result.

God sends the rain rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

We average get about 15 inches of rain -- in a year.   I generally get riding wet only a few days a year.

You holding up ok, Mike?  They were talking about all the rain on the news this morning.  Much flooding in your area?  Hope you and your family are well.

Yes, we are fine.  A friend down the road had water in some of their out buildings, which is a mess.  they had converted one to an outside kitchen, not just a storage building.  That makes it worse.  I have lived here 17 years and this is the first time I saw water across the road in front of my house.

There are plenty of roads that are closed, I have not heard of many houses with water damage around here, but probably will as reports get out.  We finished up with 11.1 inches at the house, town (about 8 miles away, had about 5 more inches I think.  It could have been alot worse.
