Title: my miata
Post by mick on 08/26/10 at 00:03:46

on the home today from my theropist,it was mid afternoon and for some reason was very quiet. I did my usual 65 MPH around a nice right hand curve onto my favorite straightaway, about 4 miles long ,I dropped her down into 4th gave her some gas gunned her upto 4,000
RPM then into 5th ,I got her up to just over a ton about 108 on the clock,I tell ya guys I love this car . I was looking on Craigs list  and found a miata engine complete with engine stand for $125 , I offered him $150 if he will deliver it he lives about 50 miles away,we made the deal on the phone he will deliver on Sat 28th Aug, I still have at least 50 thousand left on my car, but this is the last car I will ever buy in my lifetime. I love this car so much I just won't consider another one,
this is it.    So I will just take my time and rebuild the other engine ,polish it all up and drop her in when the time comes, sound like a plan ?

Sounds like a great plan, Mick.  Keep the wheels turning.

Sounds like a great idea.

I wonderhow a car like that would hold up to Nitrous,,
Would the trans/clutch need beefed up?

The transmission is good until you get up near 300hp and then they've been known to rip the teeth off the gears.  Any increase in power at all warrants a clutch upgrade.

The Miata is a fun car. My mom has one and loves it. I can't understand why she never lets me or my brothers drive it though  ;D

Better be saving money for your next motorcycle. Mick I know you too well, it wont be long and you'll be clutching with that left hand.

I think Mick is thinking about clutching in that picture.

Glad to see you're enjoying your ride Mick.

Shar had a '96 Miata that she bought brandy new. She loved that car so much that when she heard that it got totaled by a hit and run (while it was parked overnight in front of the house) she cried like she lost a family member. I was the one that delivered the news. Not an easy task. Never did catch the sob.

I've always wanted a Miata. Never sat in one so I'm not sure if I'd fit with the top up. Mick, would a 6'1" guy fit in a Miata with the top up? I'd only use the top when it rains.

My 6 foot brother in law drove it to town the day I got it ,he loved it,I'm only 5"7" and I have plenty of room over my noggin,so I guess they are ok,but like most convertables you vision is limited when the top is up.
Another thing, most of them come with a hard top and there is a little more room using that (I wish I had one )
It realy is a great little car ,I keep looking for reasons to drive to town, and then I go the long way.

the little tramp leaning on my car, I made her wipe her greasy little finger prints off it. not realy someone else put her in the picture.
And 12 Bravo I don't blame your Mom,after I got mine home I asked if anyone would like to drive it,only my brother in ,he took it town and back,.That's it no one else will ever drive my car  while I own it.
If someone steals it and I get it back I will have nothing to do with it,just sell it,knowing a low life thief has actualy driven my car,and sat in my seat,I don't think I could stand it. I hate low lifes, and people who are to lazy to work for there own car.

Thanks Mick. In a few months I'll be where I can start looking for a well used one. I'm going to lurk on the Miata forums a bit to learn all I can until then.
