i finally experienced my first backfire while driving down the road. can a backfire on a savage ever cause any damage???

Not that I know of but I do know from experience if someone is tailgating you,just give it a little more throttle and the decel fast and it will backfire and they get WAY off your butt! I love doing that!

I've seen some flames pop out a tailpipe once or twice.

might light ya on fire if you get too close :D

I'm a newbie but the backfire has quickly come part of the charm. Seems anytime I have it above 65 then come off the throttle she will let out a decent one, like she's proud of what she did and wants to show off a little. Hopefully no one comments letting me know that this is an unusual problem that will take away from an evening of riding to fix :D.
