Title: SM wheel Post by klx650sm2002 on 06/01/10 at 10:52:39 I found this on the net, it reminds me of when I got my new rims laced to KLX's hubs I just sat and looked at them for a couple of days. They are the widest wheels I have ever had at 3.5"x17" front and 4.25"x17" rear. It occurred these would look good on a Savage. http://www.ccmvmotorsports.com/prodimages/Black1%20supermoto%20rear.jpg Clive W :) |

Title: Re: SM wheel Post by mick on 06/01/10 at 11:02:26 Clive you are obsesed with just about anything mechanicle. Did you ever go to the model engineers exibition at Earls Court ?. My Dad and I used to go every year, you would love those scale model locomotive steam engines, I might ask, have you ever built one, seems to be right up your ally. Mick |

Also there was a permanent display of stationary engines, some of the biggest flywheels I've ever seen. Clive W :) |

Title: Re: SM wheel Post by dasch on 06/01/10 at 14:11:15 ...with you Clive. I had the same feeling when I relaced LS hub to 4'' rim http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2126/126/76/1071939517/n1071939517_262216_6390.jpg |
Title: Re: SM wheel Post by mick on 06/01/10 at 18:54:53 I know the steam engine you mean ,I had one until just recently ,I sold it to a SE fan. The two Loco's below are the ones I am talking about, both built in England and shown at Earls Court in london. the one below is at speed at ground level, I was a fireman for a few years and I can assure you that footplate is correct in every way,he has even got the coal down to scale size. I'm guessing, probably 5 or 6 years to build. http://i495.photobucket.com/albums/rr311/mickrowe37/benshahar_locos_01.jpg http://i495.photobucket.com/albums/rr311/mickrowe37/Didcot20at20speed20groundlevel20Tur.jpg |

Title: Re: SM wheel Post by klx650sm2002 on 06/02/10 at 11:42:22 I like 'em and appreciate the work that goes into them, when you see them first hand they never cease to amaze. What gives me a buzz these days is things like fitting a dynojet kit to a set of four cyl carbs, mind I did myself out of a job there, I talked the owner of a local bike shop through a couple and he does them himself now. Nice guy or what. I have designed pipes for 1,2,3,4and6 cylinder bikes, cars and sidecars. I also consult on chassis design for solos but mostly sidecars. Sidecars are in a world all of their own, a good friend races a formula2 sidecar with a 600/4 in it, you are looking at mid 120's for horsepower, and about 2G's cornering and on the brakes.
