Title: Motorcycle air conditioner Post by Jay on 05/26/10 at 22:09:16 A while back, I posed the question of why noone had considered putting AC on a bike. I figured the Goldwing crowd might go for it. Most here agreed that, if a person wanted AC, they might as well be driving a cage. Well, don't look now, but... http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/22/entrosys-motorcycle-air-conditioning-and-heating-system-now-taki/ http://entrosys.com/wp-content/themes/ColdStone/timthumb.php?src=wp-content/uploads/2009/10/2-large.jpg&h=250&w=883&zc=1&q=100 |

Title: Re: Motorcycle air conditioner Post by LANCER on 05/27/10 at 01:53:49 soak down your shirt before putting on your mesh jacket = evaporative cooling water is free and it works great; just reapply water as needed to continue desired cooling effect :D |
Title: Re: Motorcycle air conditioner Post by Jay on 05/27/10 at 02:16:24 Lest anyone misunderstand, and start thinking me a wus, I'm not in favor of the idea. I tend to agree with others on this board. If a person wanted AC, they should be in a cage. My original pondering was inspired by all the "crap" they seem to be mucking up bikes with these days. I swear, I don't think they'll be satisfied til they have a motorcycle that is as hard to work on, and computer controlled as modern cars are. The Savage is a relatively simple, straightforward motorcycle. Compare it to a Goldwing or the Victory. Buttons all over the place. I don't know how anyone could keep their eyes on the road, there are so many buttons on those consoles. http://image.motorcyclecruiser.com/f/9808680/0804_crup_18_z+2008_victory_vision_tour_premium+honda_gold_wing_panel.jpg http://image.motorcyclecruiser.com/f/9076363+w750+st0/0710_crup_12_z+2008_victory_vision_street_tour |

Title: Re: Motorcycle air conditioner Post by earlytimz on 05/27/10 at 07:13:16 I don't even like bikes with fairings or plastic covers everywhere. To me, the beauty of a motorcycle is in all the raw mechanical parts that make it go. I wanna see the engine. I wanna see the cables. I wanna see everything it it's place, doing it's job... Otherwise, it just looks like a scooter. |
