Anyone have both? Im concerned the domed piston and cam may damage valves.

Doesn't your piston have valve relief grooves on each side ?

Currently, I have a flat piston in it, 0.040" removed from cylinder/head and the stage 2 high lift cam...no problems at all with clearance.

Fitting a hi compression piston always requires the play dough test.  Put a wad of play dough on top of the piston, cycle the engine (or rotate the cam valves with the piston at top dead center if you want to not put the whole thing back together) and then cut across the impression left in the play dough by the valves to measure the clearance to the piston top.
