Post by Chop on 07/01/09 at 18:46:40

yeah the way this slash pipe is made -the only way to bolt it on right is that way. I did mess up though- I didnt jet the carb before i ran it for about 40 miles and it blued the pipe pretty bad and backfired like crazy. With the rejet kit- it sounds great

2004?

You have done a GREAT job in transforming your bike. If you are the least bit concerned about rain with the turnout pointing up, you could drill a small drainage hole on the underside of the exhaust at the lowest point to let any rain water drain out.

Love the look! Very clean! That purple color was offered in '04 correct?

Post by ralfyguy on 07/02/09 at 04:38:52

What kind of exhaust is this? And where did you get the mirrors?

Title: Re: NEW LOOK
Post by Chop on 07/02/09 at 05:11:58

yes it is a 2004- the mirrors were already on the bike when i bought it.The muffler actually came from JC whitney its a 19 inch turn down muffler. I was very impressed with the sound of this muffler. I have a couple bike shops around my area and they all tell me they cant beleive it is a Suzuki Savage- the sound is a deep rumble and exactly what I was looking for. The front blinkers are going to be the same as the back. I am having a machine shop make an adapter for the original blinker fork clamps to adapt to the new blinker style. When they are done and anyone wants the adapters- let me know , I will see how much it will cost to make a bulk order of them.

Can you point me to muffler on JC Whitney, and other question is: What did it take to install it? Was it a pain, or fairly easy?

Nice TURN-OUT muffler.    Mine had a Dyna turn-out which was easy to mount straight.   Real nice thing about the turn-out style mufflers is that they blow the soot away from the brake actuator arm.   Problem is that they are real real loud.    ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D    Great rubble when decelerating.

Maybe I'm biased, but getting it to mount straight out would have been a goal before wrapping the pipes.  A secondary bracket is usually the trick.

But you did change. You used to type like a fully literate person. What happened? This is the internet, because we can not hear you speak the manner in which you type is important. How you type determines the voice that you portray to your readers. IF YOU TYPE LIKE THIS IT COMES OFF AS IF YOU ARE YELLING. If u type leik dis u seam two has been poorly edumacated in skool. if you type like this and never use any capitalization punctuation commas semi-colons etc you come off as lazy

I like knowing that anything I have said comes through to the reader as clearly as it can on a computer monitor. I've always been quite a bit of a grammar nazi, so yeah.
