Title: fork tube diameter Post by scooterdewd on 05/05/09 at 07:33:33 Does anyone know the fork tube diameter where they clamp into the upper triple trees? I can't seem to find this online... thanks Jeff |

I can't find it either. :-? Couldn't find in a users manual or Clymers Manual either. I could measure it when I get home but I am guessing someone out there will beat me to that. At least I hope so, I am curious to find out the answer myself. |

Title: Re: fork tube diameter Post by SavageDanny on 05/05/09 at 08:17:57 38mm Thanks V! But now I feel stupid... I looked and looked to help him find his answer. I looked everywhere but the search function here. :-[ (Sound of hand slapping forehead) I still think I will measure and confirm it when I get home though. Just out of curiosity... Why did you want to know Jeff? |
Title: Re: fork tube diameter Post by scooterdewd on 05/05/09 at 08:27:19 Thanks for the help everyone, I used the search function but couldn't get anything to come up. Was thinking about sliding the fork tubes up about two inches above the triple tree and then seeing if I could fab up some clip ons. I like the look of clip ons on a cruiser and it would also lower the front end. |
Title: Re: fork tube diameter Post by SavageDanny on 05/05/09 at 08:36:10 Couldn't you clamp the clip ons just below the upper fork bridge? But I guess if you wanted to lower the front end that could be one way to do it. I have seen some threads here about lowering the forks. You might want to look at those. Clubman bars might be a good option too. Just an idea... |
Title: Re: fork tube diameter Post by verslagen1 on 05/05/09 at 08:49:34 You'll have to have the upper tree bored out. There's a lip preventing the tube from going thru. |
Title: Re: fork tube diameter Post by scooterdewd on 05/05/09 at 08:57:38 I did not know that, I guess the easiest way is to mount below the triple trees. thanks verslagen1 |
