Title: Using the Search Engine
Post by Oldfeller on 04/26/09 at 06:13:30

The Search Engine is the very best tool on the site.

If you learn how to use it, it can open up the whole world of Savage for you to use.   If you haven't registered yet, go do that so you are a site member and can use the Search tool.

Now, before you "ask again" on a question that might well be a recient and well covered topic -- type that sucker into the search engine first and do a little research on it first.

Then, ask for clarification on the information that is already known and all the old timers will jump in to reply or clarify or expand on the point you are questioning.

Failing to at least try to use the search engine means you might get thought of as a "newbie" by some crochety old members and perhaps not get as much of a useful reply to your question as you might have gotten otherwise.

It is the older members that have the fullest knowledge about what you are asking about, but they also are the slowest to spend the time "filling in the blanks" for the 1,001  time.   They just answered this same question just last month and it takes a lot of time to type a through answer to a tough techie question.

Hopefully this will help you avoid "stubbing your toe" as you ask your first few questions and help you to get off on the right foot so to speak.
