Greeting I am new to the board as well as a new Savage owner, well not new. I just picked up a 1996. I was wondering if any one has an owners manual posted or would be will ing to post. I came across one on the forum for a 2002. Would that manaul be the same for a 96? Thanks for the answers and I look foward to being a member of this forum

Not a problem.

At least 99.9% of the 2002 manual will apply to yours. Maybe a couple wire changes, but not much else.

Also check out the tech section for other reference stuff.

Welcome to the site.
I ordered an owners manual from the stealership for my 96, but I also have the downloaded 2002 one, not much difference between the 2.

If you have any trouble downloading the 2002 one, let me know, I can post it on sendthisfile.com for you to download.

Hey strafford guy, welcome to the forum neighbor. I'm over here in rochester,n.h. I think you'll love your savage. And I think you;ll love this forum too. the people on this site are very helpful and friendly. There are a few more savage owners in the area that I've seen on the road but not on this forum. seems like my back road cruises almost always take me through or around the strafford/bow lake area. Maybe I'll see you around. Once again, welcome the the forum and the world of the savage.

Hey Al. Good to know that there is another Savage in the sticks. I live a bit past the bow lake dam. I went to get the bike registered this morning at town hall and then was going to Rochester to get a permit. Missed the town hall by 20 min. Figured there was no sense going into Rochester to get permit. Didnt want to waste 4 of the 30 days that it is good for with the bike sitting in the driveway and not being able to ride. Man I am bummed! Well looks like a trip to town hall on Monday and then a ride to Dover after that. Maybe I will run into you on the road. Well not actually run into you ;D
