I was wondering at how many miles that should happen and more than all whats the best way to do this so its easy on my lovely 05`

I don't think it's nearly as miles dependant, as it is time dependant. I have my own theories on this, but I'll defer to someone with documentation handy...

But, if your fork seals start to leak, replace them and the oil at the same time.
