Title: Superbrace Installation on the S40
Post by markrider on 02/14/07 at 12:59:13

I purchased a Superbrace for my 2005 S40.  Before I begin to remove the black plastic fork protectors, does anyone know how to remove these little hard plastic dodads without   scratching the fork tubes? My fork tubes look new and I sure don't want to mess them up with scratches. Great site, you guys are the best!

I got one too, haven't put it on yet.

2005 S40, I did speak to the tech at superbrace after they sent me the wrong one he says to cut the black plastic protector off with an exacto knife ( box cutter)

He said it was easy to do and install ??? We'll see maybe on sunday.

With all the snow shoveling and work I have had no time

Cheers Good Luck

I was thinking I'd heard others had either done that or just snapped them off.

I would say remove the forks to do it. While they are off you can install a  set of gaiters to protect the fork tubes.
Mo Betta.
