Title: Savage Motor "interchangeability"
Post by 87gsxrnut on 06/30/06 at 08:47:40

I am mainly an old GSXR guy. BUT, I was wondering if a 1996 LS 650 Savage motor will work in a 1997 LS 650 frame. Or are there some changes that they made during those years that won't allow that?

Thanks for any and all help.

Everything can be modified to fit.
But to answer your question: Yes it fits, will drop right in.

Right on, that's what I was meaning.  ;) Drop right in is best. I've "had-to-make-it-work" too many times.

Thanks!

Dude,

You been choppin' sport bikes into streetfighters?  If so, love to see some pics!

Nah, fabbing from my racing days and when I was a M/C mechanic.

:P

I like my old-skool GSXR's stock-looking. I do have some friends who do some serious old-skool street-fighting.
