Hi all. Just wanted to let you know I am heading out of the country for two weeks and have asked Savage_Rob to step in and moderate while I am gone.

He is a great contributor to the forum and I am pleased he was willing to help out!

In case you are wondering, I am heading to Greece with the hubby and for 8 of the 14 days we will be touring the Peloponnese on motorcycles. I will give you a detailed trip report when I get back.

Play nice and take it easy on Savage_Rob while I'm gone. See you soon!

When ya get back, please post your impressions/observations ... price of fuel? What kinda mounts are popular over there, etc.?!

I was stationed for over 2 1/2 years in Glyfada. Looking it up on the web the airport is marked "old airport" and don't even want to ask what happened to our Air Base and the houses and hotels I lived in are likely long gone. Lots happen in 36 years. *SIGH*

Hand gesture, palm forward, fingers spread = Bad! (Don't tell someone to 'talk to the hand'.) It is called throwing five and it's worse than the bird.

Ma-la-kaas is bad. Neh is "yes", Oh-hey is "no".

Athens *has* the weather Los Angeles *claims*.

Great Country. Great People. As I remeber it fantastic place to go motorcycling. I envy you.

Thanks for the tips. Its always good to know what not to do! We will be on Triumph bikes -- my husband rides a Triumph. He has a thing about British cars and bikes. I will definitely share impressions/observations when I get back.

I'm back. It took a little longer than anticipated because my grandmother passed away while I was in Greece (right at the end of my trip). I came back, spent less than 12 hours at home, and then flew out for her funeral and other things (I am the executor of her estate). Its ok by the way. My grandmother was 91 and ready to go so while we are sad for us, we are happy for her.

Anyway I am finally back home and able to spend some time in the forum. Glad to see all was well while I was gone.

Greece was amazing and touring the Peloponnese by motorcycle was a real treat. We saw so many things we probably would have never seen otherwise (small villages, out-of-the-way beaches, etc).

I did see one Savage in Olympia. It was an older orange one. More to come later. I will post a trip report in the next few days.

but glad to see your back, now the front. ;D
