Yiiikes, the bidding is really heating up for this seat in the last few hours. It goes to show that a lot of people know the sore point (pun intended) of the Savage.

i just saw that in the marketplace.

darn u guys are good lol..  poor ebay'ers haha

heck i mightsave and get them.

I wonder if they are worth all the money.  I saw some disappointed ppl before in previous threads.

BUT anything is better than the stock.  Im 5ft 11 and i rode a measly 1/2 hour and it made my tushy numb.  I think ill have to raise the seat as i have heard thathelps.

Seems to be mixed results on the seat lift - I like it better raised with the number 7 rubber plugs - it keeps the arse on the wider part of the seat and keeps you from slide'n towards the tank on harder stops and such.

as a long time rider i've found the only way to make any seat more comfortable is lots of time in the saddle, you accustom your arse to the seat not the other way around. that and a couple of over the counter pain meds before you start the longer rides.  time the butt sore length to the fuel window and they will be just about the same.

but then again, others are very happy with the results they have achieved.

it's a matter of personal preference and riding style.

My Vstar numbs my bupkis in the same way the Savage does.  Just not as fast.

I noted that the highest rated seats have a similar feature...  They all have a serious notch at the rear of the seat.

On both bikes, that's the same spot that feels, let's say, compacted.

I wondered if a few well placed upholstery buttons could pull that area of the bike seat away from the fanny and give it a little more scoosh and a little more airflow.

For what it's worth, I was the winning bidder on the seat.  I never heard of Oneida Suzuki until now.  It never showed up in any of my searches for this seat.  As it stands, I'm paying $189.50.  For a couple dollars' difference, I ain't gonna worry about it.

I coulda had the darn thing for $150 if some yahoo hadn't come in and bid it up to $165 and then went away.  Oh well, stuff happens.

I actually bid on it up to $120 but stopped there because I knew about the prices at Oneida for the past three weeks from the links in the Wanted S40 Seat (http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?board=Market;action=display;num=1117625949) thread in The Marketplace forum.  I've been agonizing over whether to spend the clams on a new seat.

I have seen the bid break $200 on ebay for those seats - you didn't get hurt on the price - and at least you know that have it in stock!

Actually, it appears you did quite well.  OneidaSuzuki.com declines orders for this item claiming it is out of stock.  Their site doesn't show anything but a little while after you order it, you get an email stating the order was declined and explaining why.  I called my local stealership and was told they could get the one-piece version for the S40 (either classic or pillow) but the 2-piece version for the LS650 has been discontinued by Suzuki.  If that's true, they may go up a bit in price.
