Sounds fun! Have a great time.

Hubby and I are going motorcycling in Greece in September. He has a Triumph and there's a company there that does tours on Triumphs. There will be eight bikes, people from all over, twisty roads and amazing scenery. I can't wait!

Vacation... hmm...

I'll probably go prospecting on a couple local rivers. Petrified wood, garnet, jade (several varieties), gold (some), lots of agates. I'm broke... >:(

Sounds like a darned good time to me, WD.   :)

Really. Sounds like peace.

It's actually almost TOO easy. I have to drive all of two miles to hit a "motherload" gravel bar... my wife actively hunts for the stuff, I tend to stop when she does, but on different areas of the sandbar, look down and find something... ???...

I've got probably close to 100 POUNDS of petrified wood on the front porch, in the aquarium, and scattered around the living room. Unless I can rent a crane, the best pieces will have to stay where they are...a 14 foot long, 3 foot diameter log, and a complete STUMP in the middle of the river...

Fly out...there's plenty to go around...

Only thing we have planned so far is a weekend in Gettysburg next month.  They have a bike event from July 7th to the 10th.  We're heading there on the 8th.  We went last year and it was fun.  It's still small enough to be enjoyable.
Gettysburg is just interexting on it's own.  Riding through the battlefields on a bike is cool!

How about dinosaur fossils?

That was when we lived outside of Memphis TN. Ride to the MS River, go through the gravel banks. Lots of shells and crinelloids (?) look like petrified worm sections...
One state park in the area occasionally has bones wash out of the clay bank. Can't keep the fossils, but, still neat to find. Maybe over towards Sluggo/Max/Connie there are better things to find.
